About me and my therapy practice
Relationships should be the place where we experience the most wonderful and meaningful connections with others. However, for many of us, they have been the source of significant sadness, trauma and pain, which can cause people to lack confidence in themselves and their own personal relationships. Many people simply put a brave face on it, yet behind the smile is hidden pain, loneliness, shame and heartache.
This hidden 'life' can become very isolating and potentially destructive to one's sense of well-being and mental health. Negative thoughts, judgment and self-criticism, bring with them unhappiness, low self-esteem, embarrassment, sadness and loneliness.
I offer you an alternative type of relationship, one that brings the possibility of genuine healing. It's based on deep compassion, valuing, acceptance and over time trust. My own relational experience over the last 25 years, has given me the confidence and skill to offer this to you.
That is why it is imperative for me to move at your pace, with you in control. I recognise that 'talking' about the challenges and difficulties you have experienced is never easy. I offer a new relationship, one that develops your confidence and allows you to develop a greater sense of inner value and worth.
My aim is to create a space where you feel accepted, genuinely heard, and not judged and valued for who you are.
Most importantly, I want to see you thrive in new ways. My belief is that you have the ability to flourish and I would be privileged to be a part of that journey with you.
Practice description
I am a MA-qualified BACP, ACC registered therapist whose passion is to see individuals thrive in all aspects of their lives. Developing high quality therapeutic relationships is the foundation of all my work. I don’t believe that any one type of therapy is the best, but do believe that the relationship we create is the main vehicle that will bring healing. I work with men and women and draw from a variety of theoretical schools of therapy such as attachment, psychodynamic, person centred and existential. However my main focus is on valuing you and developing your own sense of value and worth.
You can expect to find someone who is friendly, warm, honest, and approachable. I want you to feel totally accepted and that your time with me is a place where you can totally be yourself. I believe I have the skills to help you make excellent progress and that together you will be more confident, better able to manage difficult situations and begin to feel more in control of your own life.
