About me and my therapy practice

I work collaboratively with my clients to establish what they want to get out of therapy and how they want to get there. I work to create a safe and comfortable space for clients to explore current and previous life difficulties. I mainly work from an existentialist approach looking at how you have experienced your life and how that has impacted they way you think/feel.

The main three areas I work in are: Neurodivergence, domestic/child abuse and LGBTQIA+ related issues.

Are you having difficulties with masking at work and with friends? Are you getting frustrated at yourself for not being able to do more? Are you not as able to get work done as your peers?

Are you struggling to trust and open up to people? Are you having flashbacks and panic attacks over previous abuse? Not feeling like yourself anymore?

Are you scared about coming out and the impact it might have? Are you feeling ashamed of your sexuality/gender?

These are all things we can talk about and work together on until you get to a place where you are happy with them. If you think this is something that you would like to do, you can reach out to organise a free phone call introduction, where we can discuss what you would like to get out of counselling and if we would work well together.

Practice description

I have a Degree in Psychology, a Masters in Psychological Research, a Postgraduate Certificate in Counselling and Interpersonal Skills then a Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy. From all of this I work in an integrative way, using different areas of counselling to create a safe space for us to discuss what has happening in your life and explore an current or previous thoughts/feelings/events that are having a significant impact on your day to day.

I primarily work with individuals struggling with: Neurodivergence, domestic/child abuse and LGBTQIA+ related issues. But I have experience of working with: depression, anxiety, stress, grief, trauma and attachment related issues.

My first session

I know how scary and intimidating it can be starting counselling and that it is not always easy to see who would be the right counsellor for us which is why I offer a free 15 minute introductory phone call where we can discuss what you are looking to talk about and you can find out more about me and how I work to see if we would work well together.

From there we can looking into what days/times would be preferable to you and from there we can try and get a set of sessions booked in.

From there, our first session will involve us talking through how we plan to work together, what topics you wish to discuss and what the end goal of our work is so that we can know what to be working towards.

If you have any other questions or would like to book an introductory phone call, feel free to get in touch.
