About me and my therapy practice

In 2026, it’s hard enough to feel like we’re surviving, let alone thriving. We are trapped in a culture that demands peak performance, endless adaptability and near non-stop game face. And that’s before you throw doom scrolling social media, relentless news cycles and endlessly rising prices into the mix. Burnout, paralysing anxiety or a full blown identity crisis are not only understandable, they’re starting to seem like perfectly reasonable responses right now.

To stop and ask questions like, ‘Who am I?’, ‘Where am I going? or ‘What is the point?’ can feel like a huge risk. I understand that. Before training as a therapist I spent 15 years navigating the breakneck paced, highly volatile landscape of TV Production and Development. I relate to the erratic freelance schedules, the draining hours, the sense of identity becoming infused with the career. My work with Solas Mind means that it’s not just personal experience I bring, I work professionally as a Counsellor within the industry as well. My experience at a range of charity organisations including Maytree Suicidal Respite Centre and Samaritans, has led me to emphasise non-judgemental kindness and compassion at the heart of every therapeutic relationship.

Every one of us brings our own unique past and present to therapy. Using an integrated approach that draws on a range of different therapeutic methods drawing on modalities like IFS, CBT, Gestalt and attachment work where they’re useful, we’ll come to understand how your unique story is shaping your experience right now - and find the right tools and help you live in a way that feels not just alive - authentically thrive.

Practice description

If therapy is a film, you are the director and the therapy space is a rare opportunity to pause and make sure you're creating the story you want to tell. We'll look at the past like a script worth re-reading: where are the gaps and which scenes don't feel right? And we'll examine the present like the set you're standing in: what needs adjusting so the story moves the way you want it to.

Not everyone arrives with a career or identity question, of course — grief, trauma, relationship breakdown and depression don't always fit neatly into a story you'd choose to tell, and I hold that with the same care, whatever shape it takes.

In practical terms I believe everyone's story is unique, so I work integratively rather than sticking to a formula. Sometimes that's practical, grounded tools to get you through an immediate crunch of anxiety or overwhelm. Other times it means slowing down to notice how old patterns are quietly steering choices you're making today.

Together we'll get clear on what actually matters to you and build a realistic path there. I won't tell you what to do — you're the director, after all — but I'll help you get clearer on what you want, and support you as you work out how to get there.

My first session

Reaching out is often the hardest part, so there's no pressure and no commitment to start. I offer a free 15-minute call, by phone or online, where you can tell me a bit about what's going on, ask whatever you want to ask, and get a feel for whether I'm the right fit.

If we go ahead, our first full session will include a straightforward assessment — we'll talk through what's brought you to therapy and start sketching out some goals. I like to check in on how things are going approximately every six sessions, so we can adjust course and make sure we are focussed on the goals that work for you. Sessions are 50 minutes, £80, either in person in Haggerston HQ Therapy rooms on Tuesday afternoons or online Monday evenings and Tuesdays.
