Availability

I currently have availability to take on new clients, working face to face in my consulting rooms or on Zoom. I provide weekly 50 minute sessions, working with individuals on an open ended or short term basis.

The length of therapy will depend on your therapeutic goals and types of issues you wish to address. We will discuss this together and agree a way forward.

About me and my therapy practice

Life can sometimes feel overwhelming, presenting challenges, often resulting in us feeling  isolated and alone in trying to manage difficult thoughts and feelings. The opportunity to share problems with an independent, trained therapist, to work through our anxieties, is an investment in ourselves.

I offer you the opportunity to be truly listened to and heard, helping you reflect upon and  better understand what is going on in your life. Enabling you to clarify your thoughts and feelings. Working through problems that may feel unmanageable or overwhelming.

My focus is to facilitate a supportive, professional, confidential, safe, non-judgemental space, in which we together can think, make sense of your feelings and gain better understanding. This therapeutic relationship can help you develop insight and affect  positive change. Our work  explores patterns of behaviour that may be unhelpful, developing self-awareness, improving your coping strategies and gaining a sense of calm.

"Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate." Carl Jung

I am a BACP Registered Psychodynamic Therapist/Counsellor.  Meaning I am trained to help you uncover unconscious processes, that may be impacting  on your life.

Often past early developmental experiences  and early relationships unknowingly influence our present beliefs and behaviours. Our work together will endeavour to examine these influences and  their impact, enabling you to gain understanding and make better choices.

Therapy can be challenging and at times difficult but its rewards can be powerful. It can provide a great sense of support and relief and result in lasting change.

In addition to my Private Practice, I work as a Therapist with two Mental Health Charities.

Prior to becoming a therapist I trained as a Solicitor and worked for many years both in the commercial and not for profit sector, gaining experience of the demands of a pressurised work environment and managing relational conflict.

Practice description

I offer long term, open ended therapy and shorter fixed term, often having a more specific focus. Together you and I will consider  what is most appropriate for your requirements.

I have experience working with individuals with a wide range of issues and from a variety of  backgrounds. So whatever your gender, religion, culture, sexuality or age, I look forward to getting to know who you are and working together to affect positive change in your life.

Sessions are  held weekly and  last 50 minutes, taking place at the same time and place each week.

I offer face to face therapy and online sessions. My consulting rooms are in Finchley, North London.

My first session

I offer an initial free telephone consultation in which we have an informal chat with no obligation. You can discuss your needs and what you are looking to get out of the therapy and ask me any questions you might have about the way I work and the therapeutic process. It affords us both the opportunity to  get an initial sense of each other and for you to decide if you'd like to proceed with arranging a first session at a suitable time.

Following this, if you choose to proceed, our first consultation  session will include a fuller assessment to decide if  we are a good fit and whether I am the right person to help you. We will discuss the terms of the therapy, and our agreement to meet at the same time each week for 50 minutes.

I am a Registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists  (BACP) and I abide by the BACP Code. I hold an Enhanced DBS Certificate, which means I am suitable to work with teenagers and adults in a therapeutic capacity.
