About me and my therapy practice
I am a psychodynamically trained, Registered MBACP counsellor/ therapist working with individuals and couples. I offer sessions in person, on zoom and on the phone, depending on your requirements and circumstances. I establish warm and understanding relationships with clients, creating a safe space to explore what is bringing them to therapy at this time. I aim to work at the client's pace and in a style that suits them, offering a supportive environment that can at times also be probing and challenging in an effort to encourage and guide clients to effect positive change via greater self-knowledge and understanding.I have experience working with clients facing life challenges and decisions, general low self esteem, feeling overwhelmed, suffering from anxiety, depression, trying to manage difficult thoughts and feelings, personal and work relational issues, life stage changes, bereavement, marriage/separation/divorce, parenting/step parenting challenges, amongst other things.
I have a commercial professional background having worked as a solicitor and in other non-legal corporate sectors, which help me to understand the challenges of working in a pressured environment.
I am passionate about facilitating my clients' ability to effect positive change and gain greater insight and self-awareness, assisting them in feeling more in control of their lives and emotions, living more consciously and proactively, and ultimately hopefully with more joy.
Practice description
I am trained psychodynamically which means in our work we will explore the past to understand its impact on the present, and bring unconscious processes into awareness. I also use relational/systemic approaches, having trained in Imago Therapy, which looks at patterns in family dynamics, belief systems and interactions. It incorporates Attachment Theory, which looks at how our early relationships, especially with care givers, shape the way we form emotional bonds throughout life. Looking at how they impact relationship patterns, emotional regulation and impact response to conflict or intimacy . Using the appropriate tools to suit the client's needs, the work in therapy is to develop improved self-awareness which in turn builds healthier relationships, effecting positive change.
My first session
Our first session is an assessment, for you and I to get a sense of each other and see if we feel like working together might be a good fit. It takes time to build a trusting relationship, but hopefully in the first session I will get a background and understanding from you as to what your needs are and what you hope to get out the therapy, and whether I can meet your needs, and you will get a sense of how I work and whether you think working with me might feel right for you. Sometimes it takes a few sessions to get a full sense of each other, but at no point is there a commitment on your part to continue.
The most important part of successful therapy is the relationship between the client and the therapist , and my aim is to make you feel safe to talk about issues that are troubling you, and build a trusted connection where you can explore your thoughts and feelings gaining personal deeper insight and effecting positive change .

Availability
I currently have availability to take on new clients, (individuals or couples), working face to face in my consulting rooms in Finchley or West Hampstead or on Zoom. I provide weekly or biweekly sessions, on an open ended or short term basis.
The length of therapy will depend on your therapeutic goals and types of issues you wish to address. We will discuss this together and agree a way forward.
About me and my therapy practice
I believe that greater self-understanding can create the opportunity for meaningful and lasting change. My role is to offer a safe, thoughtful and compassionate space where we can explore whatever has bought you to therapy.
As a BACP Registered Psychodynamic Therapist and Counsellor, I work with individuals and couples, offering a warm, confidential and non-judgemental space where you can talk openly about whatever has brought you to therapy. Whether you are experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, loss, low self-esteem or feeling stuck, I aim to provide a safe environment in which we can explore your thoughts and feelings together.
My approach is psychodynamic, which means we will look beyond your current difficulties to explore the underlying patterns and experiences that may be influencing how you feel, think and relate to yourself and others. Often these patterns develop over many years and operate outside our conscious awareness. By bringing greater understanding to them, therapy can help you make sense of your experiences and create the possibility for meaningful and lasting change.
I believe that the therapeutic relationship is central to successful therapy. Feeling heard, understood and accepted provides the foundation for exploring difficult emotions safely and at a pace that feels right for you. Every person is unique, so I tailor my approach to meet your individual needs rather than working in a one-size-fits-all way.
Therapy is not about giving advice or telling you what to do. Instead, I will think alongside you with curiosity, compassion and respect, helping you develop greater self-awareness, emotional resilience and healthier ways of relating to yourself and others. My aim is to support you in making sense of your experiences so that you can move forward with greater confidence, authenticity and emotional wellbeing.
Practice description
I offer both open-ended, longer-term therapy and shorter-term, focused work. Our initial consultation an opportunity to explore what has brought you to therapy, discuss your hopes and expectations and consider together the approach that best meets your needs.
I work with individuals and couples from a wide range of backgrounds and have experience supporting clients with many different emotional and relationship difficulties. Whatever your age, gender, sexuality, culture, religion or life experience, I aim to provide a welcoming, respectful and inclusive environment where you can feel safe to explore whatever is important to you.
Sessions take place weekly and last 50 minutes. Regular sessions provide a consistent and reliable space in which therapy can develop at a pace that feels right for you.
I offer both face-to-face therapy from my consulting rooms in Finchley, North London, or West Hampstead, and online sessions, allowing flexibility to meet your individual circumstances.
I recognise that finding the right therapist is an important decision and I welcome the opportunity to discuss how we might work together.
My first session
I offer a free, no-obligation telephone consultation, giving us an opportunity to discuss what has brought you to therapy, whether as an individual or as a couple and what you hope to gain from it. It is also a chance for you to ask any questions you may have about therapy, my approach, or how we might work together. The conversation is informal and gives us both an opportunity to consider whether we feel we are the right fit before arranging an initial consultation.
If you decide to go ahead, our first session will focus on exploring your reasons for seeking therapy, your personal history and what you would like to achieve. This assessment helps us begin to understand your difficulties and consider how therapy may be most helpful for you. It is also an opportunity to agree the practical arrangements for our work together, including confidentiality, the therapeutic agreement and regular weekly sessions.
Beginning therapy can feel like a significant step. My aim is to provide a calm, supportive and non-judgemental environment where you feel able to talk openly and at your own pace.
