About me and my therapy practice
Sometimes the problem isn't a crisis so much as a growing sense that you've lost touch with yourself.
You may have spent years being the one who copes, adapts, keeps the peace, or puts other people's needs first. From the outside, life may look perfectly fine. Yet underneath, you might feel stuck, emotionally drained, uncertain about what you want, or aware that something no longer fits.
This can happen after a bereavement, separation, health scare, career change, becoming a parent, children leaving home, menopause, or simply as part of life's natural transitions. For some people there isn't a single event at all—just an increasing sense that they are living according to expectations that no longer feel like their own.
Practice description
I offer a warm, relational and thoughtful space where we can explore what's happening together. My style is conversational, engaged and gently challenging. I'm not someone who sits silently in the background. Instead, I work collaboratively, bringing curiosity, warmth and sometimes humour to help you make sense of your experience.
As an integrative counsellor and coach, I draw on different approaches depending on your needs. We might explore current difficulties, longstanding patterns, relationships, self-worth, grief, boundaries, identity, or the ways you learned to adapt in order to belong, stay safe, or gain approval.
Alongside counselling, I can incorporate coaching where helpful. This can be particularly useful when you feel ready to make changes, reconnect with what matters to you, or develop greater confidence in your own judgement and decisions.
Sometimes people come to therapy wanting answers. More often, we begin by noticing what has become difficult to hear beneath the noise of expectations, responsibilities and old ways of coping. As we make space for your experience, a clearer sense of what matters to you can begin to emerge.
Before becoming a therapist, I worked in psychology teaching and research. I hold a doctorate in psychology and continue to draw on psychological understanding alongside therapeutic practice.
I work online and in person in Hackney and Buckhurst Hill.

Sometimes people come to therapy wanting answers. More often, we begin by making space for the questions. Together we can explore who you are, how you came to be here, and what might need to change now. Clarity doesn't always arrive all at once, but understanding yourself more fully can make it easier to decide what comes next.
