About me and my therapy practice

I believe counselling starts with you — your experiences, your story and what feels important to you right now.

I offer a warm, person-centred and confidential space where you can slow things down, make sense of what’s happening and explore things at your own pace. You don't need to arrive knowing exactly what you need or even have all the answers.

Increasingly, I work with women who are exploring whether they may be autistic or have ADHD, are waiting for an assessment, or have recently received a diagnosis and are trying to understand what it means for them. For some women, this can bring relief and understanding, but it can also bring questions, uncertainty and even grief about the years spent wondering, “Why do I find things so difficult when everyone else seems to cope?”

You may be someone who looks like you have it all together, but privately feels exhausted, overwhelmed or constantly on the go. We can explore the things that may be affecting you — including masking, emotional regulation, boundaries, relationships, work, self-esteem and the pressure to keep coping.

I won't tell you who you are or what you should do. Instead, I'll work alongside you to help you understand yourself, recognise what you need and discover what works for you.

My approach is compassionate but also practical. I want you to leave with greater self-understanding and tools you can use beyond our sessions — including knowing when you can support yourself and when reaching out for help might be the right thing to do.

For me, counselling isn't about fixing you.

**It's about helping you understand yourself differently.**

Practice description

Perhaps you’ve reached a point where you’re thinking, “I can’t keep doing things this way.”

You may look like you’re coping perfectly well to everyone around you, while inside you’re exhausted, overwhelmed or constantly questioning yourself.

My practice is particularly focused on supporting women who are exploring autism, ADHD and neurodivergence — whether you’re questioning, waiting for an assessment, recently diagnosed, or simply trying to understand yourself better.

I offer a calm, confidential and welcoming space where you can be yourself without having to perform, explain everything perfectly or have all the answers.

Sessions are led by you. We might talk about what has brought you to counselling, explore patterns that have developed over time, or begin to understand experiences such as masking, overwhelm, emotional regulation, relationships, boundaries, work and self-esteem.

I work in a person-centred way, which means I won't tell you what you should think or do. I’ll listen, ask questions and work alongside you to help you make sense of what you're experiencing.

I also believe counselling can be practical. Alongside understanding yourself, we can explore tools and strategies that may help you manage everyday life, recognise your needs and build greater confidence in knowing when to support yourself and when to ask for help.

You don't need a diagnosis to come to counselling, and you don't need to know exactly what you want to work on.

You can simply start with where you are.

My aim is to help you move from “What's wrong with me?” to “What do I need?”

If that sounds like something you’d like to explore, you're very welcome to get in touch.

My first session

There’s no pressure to arrive with everything worked out.

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other, talk about what has brought you to counselling and, most importantly, begin to build a relationship where you feel comfortable, heard and able to be yourself.

I understand that starting counselling can feel daunting — particularly if you’re used to being the person who copes, manages and looks after everyone else.

So we’ll take our time.

You can talk about as much or as little as you feel comfortable sharing. There is no expectation that you have to tell me your whole story or know exactly what you want to achieve.

We’ll explore what feels important to you right now and begin to think about what you would like from counselling.

For me, building trust is at the heart of our work. I want you to feel that you have found a space where you don't have to mask, perform or have all the answers.

You can simply **start with where you are.**

As we get to know each other, we can work together to understand what you’re experiencing, what you need and what might help you move forward.

There is no separate assessment or test to complete before we begin. The first session is simply about **you, me and creating a space where you feel safe enough to start.**
