I conduct sessions throughout the week, including some evenings. The nature of counselling work means these times can vary. Please reach out and I'll be happy to share my current availability with you here.
I have extensive experience providing online therapy to clients across the UK, while also offering in-person sessions at my office in the heart of Birmingham city centre (Postcode: B16 8GZ). The convenient location is a few minutes walk from Brindleyplace and Five-Ways. It is easily accessible on foot, car or by public transport.
About me and my therapy practice
I specialise in providing empathetic and effective therapy for individuals dealing with a variety of emotional and psychological challenges. This includes helping clients manage anxiety and depression, improve self-esteem and self-confidence and navigate complex relationship dynamics. I also offer support and guidance for those coping with grief, high levels of stress, persistent sadness and anger management issues.
It’s important to say that this is a fairly arbitrary list of phrases and ‘labels’ that are commonly used in the mental health space. These terms certainly have value, but most important to my work is your unique experience of the issue, how you are affected by it, what it means to you and how I can help you with it.
Practice description
I have worked with adult men and women from a wide range of cultures, and ethnicities and am LGBTQ+ friendly. My approach is rooted in creating a safe and non-judgmental space where clients can explore their feelings, develop coping strategies, and work towards positive change.
I also work with Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs), organisations and institutions, looking to support the mental well-being of the people who work for them.
My first session
We will arrange a 15-minute introduction video or telephone call. This is a chance for us to discuss what you would like to bring to therapy and might expect from it. It’s also an opportunity to arrange the first session if it feels like a good fit.
The first session might seem like a daunting experience. For many people, it’s something brand new and there’s often been a lot of build-up to this moment. Many of my clients had never spoken to a therapist before, I promise that feeling passes quickly. If you have never tried therapy but have arrived at this website, I encourage you to keep going. It takes incredible courage to send that email or make that call and ask for an appointment.

Jas Dhillon is an integrative therapist working online and face-to-face in Birmingham City Centre. Helping people move through life with more agency, confidence and wellbeing.
Being trained as both a Psychologist and Integrative Counsellor means I will employ techniques from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, Gestalt Therapy and Person-Centred Therapy. I’m not really sure it’s important to know what these terms mean or if it matters when you’re looking for a therapist. Simply, I believe that the client is the expert in their life and deep down they know what is best for them. I serve as a facilitator or companion to explore and find your true self.
I feel that sharing knowledge through psychoeducation is incredibly valuable. Encouraging my clients to ask questions and seek answers, so they can to some degree, become their own counsellor. Moving through life with more agency, creativity and confidence that they can handle the inevitable difficulties that come with the package of being human.

Part of my training took place during the pandemic, and as a result, I learned the immense value in offering confidential, professional therapy online. Therapy purists might argue face-to-face is always better, but this option simply isn’t possible for some people. Online therapy has been a revolution, reducing barriers and making access to psychotherapy easier than ever before. I’ve worked with many clients who have changed their lives through online therapy and for them, it was the best choice.

About me and my therapy practice
I’m an integrative therapist, which means I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches to tailor the work to you as an individual. My focus isn’t on labels or predefined categories, but on your unique experience—how things are affecting you, what they mean to you, and what you want to change or understand.
I aim to create a safe, non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings openly. Within that space, we work collaboratively to build awareness, develop coping strategies, and move towards greater clarity, confidence, and wellbeing.
I work both short- and long-term, and the pace and direction of therapy are guided by you. Some sessions may feel reflective and exploratory, while others may be more focused and challenging—always with the aim of helping you move forward in a way that feels meaningful and sustainable.

WORKING WITH ME
I offer therapy for adults experiencing a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties, including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, stress, relationship issues, grief, and anger.
My practice is inclusive and welcoming, working with people from diverse cultural backgrounds and identities. At the core of my work is the belief that being truly heard is a powerful starting point for change.
Sessions are available both online across the UK and in-person in Birmingham city centre. Therapy is offered in a flexible way, allowing us to review progress regularly and adapt the work as needed.
My first session
FIRST SESSION
The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and begin understanding what has brought you to therapy. There’s no pressure to have everything figured out—you can start wherever feels most comfortable.
I have experience working with people who are completely new to therapy, and I understand that starting for the first time can bring up anxiety, uncertainty, or nervousness. We can go at your pace, and I’ll support you in settling into the process so it feels as safe and manageable as possible.
We’ll explore what’s been going on for you, what you’re hoping to get from therapy, and how we might work together. This initial phase is also about building a strong therapeutic relationship, which is why it’s common to meet weekly for the first few sessions.
