About me and my therapy practice
Feeling anxious, overwhelmed or exhausted, and not sure why?
You don’t need to have it all worked out. You just need to be willing to talk.
I’m Sandra, an accredited counsellor and psychotherapist. Therapy with me feels like an informal conversation, but with an expert who listens deeply and helps you make sense of what’s underneath.
I’m curious, honest and involved. I won’t just nod along. I’ll offer new ways of seeing things and tell you what I notice, always with care.
My background is varied, and it all shapes how I work. Before becoming a Therapist, I worked in child development, personal training and nutrition, mentoring trauma survivors and addiction counselling. I’m also trained in adult ADHD.
This means I see the whole person: your past, your body, your relationships and how your mind works.
I trained at The Gestalt Centre in London and created my own approach, Emotional Wounds Enquiry, which makes therapy a real journey of self-discovery. I’m also a TEDx speaker.
I work with individuals and couples, in person near King’s Cross and online across the UK.
Practice description
My work is built on something I call Emotional Wounds Enquiry. Together we explore how your life experiences have left their mark on you. Some of the ways you think, feel and react today were once ways of protecting yourself. When you see these patterns clearly, things start to make sense, and therapy becomes a real journey of self-discovery.
Trauma and difficult life experiences
A painful childhood, loss, abuse, addiction in the family, or years of coping alone can leave you on edge, numb or stuck in patterns you can’t explain. These aren’t signs you’re broken; they’re how you learned to survive. At your own pace, we help you feel safer in yourself and your relationships.
ADHD
ADHD isn’t just about focus. In adults it can look like overwhelm, procrastination, intense emotions, people-pleasing, harsh self-talk, or exhaustion without being able to stop. Many adults spend years feeling different without knowing why. I’m trained in adult ADHD and work with people who are diagnosed, waiting for assessment, or simply wondering. (I don’t provide assessments.)
Relationships and couples
Many struggles show up in our relationships: the same arguments, feeling unheard, struggling to trust, always giving more. Often these patterns go back to what we learned about love and safety growing up. With couples, I offer a safe space where you are both heard. I don’t take sides. I help you understand what’s happening underneath and find new ways to reconnect.
Life in a busy city
London can be exciting and exhausting at once. Long hours, pressure to perform, and being far from family can leave you running on empty. Stress doesn’t only live in our thoughts, so I also pay attention to how you feel in your body, helping you slow down and feel more settled.
I see individuals and couples in person near King’s Cross and online across the UK.
My first session
Our first session is simply a chance to meet. You can tell me what’s going on and what you’d like to change, and ask me anything you want to know. You only share what you feel ready to share. There’s no pressure. At the end, we’ll decide together whether it feels right to continue.

Hello and welcome.
I hope you enjoy this reading and I am looking forward to hear from you.
I am Sandra Stein, an MBACP registered, Humanistic Gestalt Integrative Counsellor Therapist for Individuals and Couples, Therapy Group Facilitator and Author. Extensive experience in Solution Focused Approach, CBT and Embodied Therapy.
With the rise of social media, living costs and unemployment life has become an experience full of anxiety, sadness, loneliness, low self-esteem, compulsive behaviour (addiction) and so on.
Forging relationships has become a painful and scary task in this era of perfectionism, competition and unrealistic expectations for one another.
These are some of the cycles and struggles I will help you to process. I aim to help you understand yourself more deeply and I will teach you tools to live a more peaceful and in control life experience. Boosting your self-confidence, creativity and happiness.
Therapy is also about your need to make sense of your thoughts and feelings about a particular situation, including decision-making and relationships by speaking with someone who will not judge you or press expectations upon you.
I also have extensive experience working with Addiction (substances, sex, food, gambling) and Eating Disorders at The Priory Hospital North London, I was privileged and still am to help people gain control of themselves and find that they can exercise choices in life.
Having specialized in Trauma through the Oxford University Master Series you will find in our work what you need to deal with the symptoms of Anxiety, Depression, Addiction, low self-esteem and other mental and emotional struggles.
For most people, Therapy is an unknown field which is why the first sensations you will have in my sessions are freedom, encouragement, acceptance, empowerment and safety to be vulnerable more intimately.
I want to know what you need help with.
My first session
WHAT IT FEELS LIKE TO WORK WITH ME
Many people have sat with therapists who listened — but left feeling unheard. If that's been your experience, this may feel different.
In our sessions you will feel:
— A real dialogue — not a monologue into silence. I am present, responsive, and genuinely engaged with what you bring.
— Genuine curiosity about what lies beneath — the parts you can't quite name or explain yet.
— More than heard — gently challenged, guided, and given real tools to practise change in your life, not just in the room.
— A quality of connection that is attuned, unhurried, and entirely focused on you. Not on a method. Not on a checklist. On you.
This is what my clients tell me they didn't know therapy could feel like — until it did.
