I currently have some space during weekday daytimes and evenings. I work in person, both in and outdoors, and on the phone.
About me and my therapy practice
In the work I facilitate, we create something key to wellbeing; we create ROOM for you. Life is a hectic, complicated business for many, & we could surely all do with a little more mental & emotional room.
Once we have a bit of room, awareness becomes possible. The counselling I offer is rooted in the idea that awareness is the key to effect positive change in our lives. You've already taken a huge step in becoming aware that you may benefit from working with a counsellor.
I have designed my counselling process to support nervous system regulation and emotional safety, as I understand from my own lived experience how crucial this is to accessing our vulnerabilities in therapy. Together, we will navigate the life pressures that have brought you to this moment, and we'll do it with gentleness and kindness, always working at a pace that is comfortable to you.
I work in green spaces and woodlands in villages around Haywards Heath, as well as an indoor therapy room in the town centre. I also work from my biophilic therapy studio based in over 200 acres of private woodlands and countryside in Hartfield, TN7. I welcome clients of all genders, sexualities, relationship styles, cultures, faiths and neurotypes.
Practice description
Beginning to have that all important room in our lives happens the moment we do what you're doing now; we sit down and research our therapy options. In deciding to see a counsellor, we are setting an intention to create room in our lives for the one who's needs often end up at the bottom of our list...
Once you begin this process of making room for yourself by engaging in counselling, you'll begin to feel a sense of spaciousness within, and to gain a more 'zoomed out' perspective on your life stuff. This is really helpful because when we are identified with an issue, e.g. our anxiety, there's no room to move, and not a whole lot we can do about it, other than to feel at its mercy; how do we change something with a mindset that is responsible for creating the anxiety in the first place? After going down the 'self help' route for a while, many of us realise that we can't do it alone, and that's the point you've likely reached now.
The great news is, when we realise that we have anxiety, and that we are not our anxiety, then positive change becomes possible. This process of disidentification from our feeling and mental states opens up new possibilities we had never realised were available to us. As we discover that we have choices that are real, and need not remain mere pipe dreams, we begin to have agency over our life experience, and that's when things start getting really interesting. We need not stay stuck in the tiny holiday cottage playing pingpong - we can take our place in the chateau we booked :)
My first session
If you think you might like to explore counselling sessions with me, please reach out by phone or SMS on 07379 184741 or you can email me: purplegoldpink@icloud.com. We'll organise an initial chat of up to 20 minutes, and if it feels right for you, we can book a session.
The first session is slightly longer than the usual 50 minutes, at no extra cost. We'll spend that time exploring the headline issue in your life at the moment, and take a look at what you'd like to explore in therapy.
Thank you for pausing to consider my offering. With much respect & warmth, Jenny.
