About me and my therapy practice
Are you looking for a therapeutic space where you can move past the translation phase and drop straight into your unique, felt experience?
I am Gabriel (he/they), a queer and late-diagnosed AuDHD person-centred counsellor offering an affirming space built specifically for the LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent communities. My focus is on offering a safe, shame-free environment where you are respected as the expert on your own life.
Drawing from my own lived experience, I work collaboratively to help you navigate anxiety, relational patterns, life transitions, and the daily physical energy tax of masking. My background in the creative industries deeply informs our work, helping us honor authentic self-expression and navigate personal or creative blockages. My goal is to support you in building a life that feels genuinely authentic and grounded. To learn more about my approach, please visit gabrielcounselling.co.uk.
Practice description
My practice, Gabriel Counselling, is grounded in the Person-Centred approach, built on the reality that you are the ultimate expert on your own life. My role is to walk alongside you as a supportive, collaborative guide, helping you find your own clarity and build self-trust.
Drawing from my lived experience and skills learned in the creative industries, I focus on providing a warm, trusting foundation to explore:
Neurodivergent Individuals (ADHD/Autism): An affirming approach that works with your unique brain and sensory system, rather than trying to force you to mask or fit into neurotypical frameworks.
LGBTQIA+ & GSRD Communities: A safe, knowledgeable space to explore identity, relationships, gender expression, and navigate the impact of minority stress.
Anxiety, Relational Overwhelm, & Burnout: Gently unpicking the emotional and physical exhaustion of navigating daily life.
My practice is explicitly intersectional, anti-racist, sex worker-allied, and HIV/AIDS-allied, offering a stigma-free space for all.
All sessions are conducted online, via phone, or in-person on request in SE London. You can read my full practice philosophy at gabrielcounselling.co.uk.
My first session
Finding a therapist who feels like a safe match for your nervous system is the most important step. To help with this, I invite you to a free, no-obligation 15-minute introductory video or phone call. This is a quiet, low-pressure chance for us to connect, discuss what brings you to therapy, and see if my approach aligns with your system.
If we decide to proceed, our first full 50-minute session will be a confidential space to explore your story at your own pace.
My standard fees for a 50-minute session are:
- Online/Phone counselling is £75
- In-person (SE London) is £85
Because financial strain shouldn't be a barrier to relational safety, I reserve a limited number of concession slots on a sliding scale -please feel free to bring this up when we speak.
