About me and my therapy practice

I understand that finding the right therapist can feel overwhelming, and yet the relationship between therapist and client is the most important part of the process. Extensive research has shown that it is the quality of the relationship between client and therapist, rather than a therapist’s particular modality or orientation, that makes the difference. As we bring our rawest most vulnerable selves into this new realm, we need to feel met and heard with safety, kindness and understanding. My profound interest in and compassion for people, what it feels like to be them in the world and a drive to help people be the best they can be, led me to my therapeutic training.

I consider myself to be approachable, warm and reliable, with an ability to establish empathic and non-judgemental relationships, in a gentle, discreet and safe environment. Working collaboratively, I can help you explore emotional difficulties and provide understanding of issues that prevent you feeling happy and healthy, and reaching your full potential in every day life whether at home or at work.

I currently practice online and in the countryside on the Hampshire/Berkshire border. My room is extremely private, easily accessible with plenty of parking. Alongside my private practice, I volunteer for a charitable counselling service and have experience in dealing with issues such as: anxiety, low mood and depression, stress, low self worth, grief and loss, life changes, relationships and family issues, self-harm, eating disorders and alcohol dependency.

In my previous life, I have held positions in the corporate world, charity sector and have worked as a florist and flower grower. I love walking and the sea and embrace the healing power of nature.

Practice description

I trained at the Metanoia Institute, one of Europe’s leading psychotherapy and counselling schools. My degree was focused on Humanistic counselling, blending the modalities of Person-Centered, Gestalt and Transactional Analysis.

Looking at the past can help us understand more about who we are today, but working Humanistically means that my work with clients is more focused on the ‘here and now’. I believe that you, the client are the most knowledgeable on yourself, even if that may not be in your awareness right now, and my aim is to support and facilitate you finding clarity, meaning and purpose, helping you facilitate changes you want to, fulfil your potential and find solutions and ways of living that feel right for you.

I endeavour to provide the safest and most compassionate of environments in which you can start the process.

I offer a free 30 minute telephone conversation to discuss your needs, and to see if we feel we are the right fit and how we might work together moving forwards.

My approach is flexible, offering short term, long term and online therapy.

My first session

Once we have spoken on the telephone and agreed a way forward we will arrange to meet either in person or online.
