About me and my therapy practice

**Working nationally offering online sessions** It takes a lot of courage to embark on a self-discovery and healing journey, to look within ourselves and work out how we want to live. The journey might be difficult and challenging at times, and I will be there supporting you every step of the way.

I believe that past experiences and relationships impact how we relate and live our lives in the present, and that is through relationships that we heal. I aim to offer a healthy relational experience to help you connect to yourself in a more authentic way. I facilitate a safe, open, and accepting space for us to build a strong, genuine, and trusting relationship. I focus on nurturing your potential and help you explore your feelings, needs, thoughts, and experiences, and increase your self-awareness to bring about change in your life. I work holistically, which means I consider the mind, emotions, body, and spirit as a whole, as I believe all aspects are interconnected.

Talking helps. Whether you are feeling anxious, fearful, angry, sad, or perhaps stuck, or maybe you just need a safe space to explore.

About me

I am a qualified counsellor working with individuals over the age of 18. I have experience supporting adults who are facing all kinds of challenges and issues including anxiety, stress, panic attacks, anger, depression, low-mood, suicidal ideation, relationship issues, family issues, lack of confidence and low self-esteem, sense of personal failure, work problems, career, isolation, bullying, emotional struggles, sexuality, meaning, loss, and more.

Prior to becoming a counsellor, I worked for several years in hospitality and then as a social worker in the homelessness sector. I am currently an associate counsellor at Options Wellbeing and also run my private practice.

Training and Qualifications

BSc in Counselling - currently undergoing

FdSc in Integrative Counselling, degree validated by Greenwich University - First Class

CPCAB Certificate - Level 2 and 3

Practice description

As an integrative counsellor, I trained in the Clarkson Five Relationship framework and therefore I focus on the healing aspect of the counselling relationship; there is extensive research that demonstrates that the quality of the relationship predicts positive clinical outcomes, regardless of the approach.

I draw from different approaches (see details below) which allows me to be flexible and offer ways of working that we would both feel suit you best, considering your uniqueness as a person. My approach is collaborative and based on mutual understanding.

Humanistic approaches: based on the belief that we all naturally have the potential to create the life we want, but sometimes difficult life experiences might block this ability. It’s all about self-exploration and increasing self-awareness within a safe and non-judgemental space.

Psychodynamic approaches: have focus on the past and how childhood experiences impact the present, and how unconscious motives and beliefs still affect us today that we are unaware of. Its aim is to increase self-awareness in order to change what you want to change about yourself and your life.

I can provide counselling in English and Spanish.

My rates are:

£60 for a 50-minute session

£90 for a 1 hr and 15-minute session

Concessionary sessions for trainees.

I offer:

Online sessions (Skype, Google Meet, Teams).

Face-to-face in Southampton

Blended sessions (a blend of face-to-face and online).

Short-term therapy if you want to work on a specific issue or long-term therapy to look into more complex or long-standing issues.

My first session

I offer a free 20 to 30-minute consultation over the phone or video call to ask me any questions you might have about how I work, how our work together would look like, and get a sense of who I am to see if you want to work with me.

Normally we would meet on a weekly basis for 50 minutes, on the same day and at the same time. The frequency and length of sessions can be flexible in certain circumstances which we will discuss during the consultation. There are cases that due to the complexity of your issues, you might need more time, therefore I also offer 1 hour and 15-minute sessions (session and a half).

After we agree to start working together, we will set a regular day and time. In our first session we will fill in an initial assessment form and discuss the counselling contract, where we will agree how to work together, and we will go through boundaries in order to ensure your safety and best practice. We will also discuss your goals and expectations from counselling and the length of therapy.

I offer regular reviews, which is a space for you to share how therapy has been working for you and any feedback you might have in order to make any necessary changes.

What I can help with
