Availability

I work weekday daytime (until 6pm) and currently have some sessions available, for individuals and couples, in London Bridge, SE1, and Peckham, SE15. I also offer online, and walking and talking therapy in local parks.

About me and my therapy practice

I am a psychotherapeutic counsellor, with a background in supporting adults and young people through physical and psychological challenges. I have worked as a mentor with young adults excluded from mainstream education, and as a grief companion attached to a hospice.

I work relationally, so place great emphasis on the value in building our relationship, as well as the way that other relationships function in your life. We work in the here and now, with some attention to how your past might be impacting you currently.

I am trained in Psychosynthesis, a transpersonal psychology which pays attention to your whole being, your thoughts, your feelings and your body.

I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and follow the Ethical Framework of the BACP that protects both clients and therapists.

Practice description

About me and my therapy practice

Hello, I'm Matt. I am a pychotherapeutic counsellor, with a background in supporting adults and young people through physical and psychological challenges. I have worked as a mentor with young adults excluded from mainstream education, and as a grief companion attached to a hospice.

I believe in the power of working outside and although London parks are not deep countryside, they still offer some sense of the natural world that we are all part of. Walking and talking in nature is also sometimes easier than sitting in a room with a therapist.

I work relationally, which means I place great emphasis on the value in building our relationship, as well as the effectiveness and function of the other relationships in your life. We work in the here and now, and consider how your past life might be impacting you currently.

I am trained in transpersonal psychology, so my approach to therapy is holistic, including creative and spiritual dimensions of human nature. I work with the whole person, so I will pay attention to your thoughts, feelings, and what might be happening with your body as we work together.

I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and follow the Ethical Framework of the BACP that protects both clients and therapists.
