About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I'm Linda. Taking the first step toward positive change can feel hard at times; Not knowing where to turn may leave you feeling anxious and alone. Climbing the mountain feels like an impossible task. But, you've already found the courage and strength to start the process.
Navigating our way through life's ups and downs can feel stressful and confusing. The effect on our anxiety levels can impact how we manage our everyday lives. I understand because I too have navigated some difficult paths along the way.
Talking things through can help you find direction, reduce anxiety, and low mood, and can help you to view things with clarity and a clearer lens.
Life can feel challenging at times, and we all experience different feelings and emotions because of this. These emotions may cause feelings of guilt, anger, hopelessness, depression, and confusion. We all battle anxiety at times and a little bit of anxiety helps to keep us safe and from harm. But when this anxiety spills into our everyday lives it can impact our emotional well-being and knowing where to turn can become a real struggle.
My role is to support you in a confidential non-judgemental space, where I listen to your story with warmth and understanding, and where together we can discover new ways for you to manage emotions with a renewed mindset.
Trusting someone new can feel scary, but together we can work on building a therapeutic relationship at a pace that's right for you. I understand trust takes time to build, and I will not press you to discuss anything that feels uncomfortable, or that you feel is too painful to share.
I have a volunteering history in bereavement, anxiety, depression, abuse, and therapy for carers and their loved ones with terminal illnesses. Some of these charities I continue to support. I have also worked for a crisis line offering one-off support in moments of crisis. I believe that everyone deserves help and support when needed, and offering that support is crucial for our well-being.
I primarily focus on anxiety, stress, trauma, depression, bereavement, abuse, and low self-esteem.
I also work alongside clients dealing with confidence issues, and relationship difficulties. Or, if you feel you just need someone to talk to when life's uncertainties seem difficult to understand.
I offer one-hour face-to-face sessions at my practice in Medway, as well as one-hour online ZOOM sessions. I also offer some home visits if you cannot leave your home due to certain situations that prevent you from accessing face-to-face or an online platform. (This would be dependent on location, distance, and needs).
I keep up to date with Continued Professional Development as required by the BACP, British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy and I am a registered member. I adhere to their Ethical Framework (2018) to keep you safe throughout our sessions. I am registered with the ICO (Information Commissions Office and I am GDPR compliant, (General Data Protection Regulation), I am also fully insured.
My first session
The first session will be spent on getting to know each other and determining whether you feel I am the right therapist for you. It's important you feel a connection with me for therapy to work and this is a good opportunity for you to ask me anything about my service and how I work.
This session will last about 1 hour and 15 minutes.
All sessions are charged at 34.00 for 1 hour either face-to-face or on Zoom.
I offer a 15-minute introduction call free of charge if you feel it may help break the ice.
Home visits are charged at 45.00 for 1 hour.
