About me and my therapy practice

My name is Nikki, and I specialise in relationship counselling and couples therapy, helping individuals and couples navigate the challenges that can arise in their relationships with themselves and others.

Whether you are experiencing communication difficulties, recurring conflict, trust issues, life transitions, feelings of disconnection, or uncertainty about the future of your relationship, I can provide a supportive and non-judgemental space to help you explore what is happening and find a way forward.

I am a fully qualified and BACP-registered counsellor with extensive experience supporting people through a wide range of issues that impact mental health and emotional wellbeing. Alongside my work as an individual and couples therapist, I have previously volunteered with the Samaritans and worked for local mental health charities. I have also spent over ten years supporting new parents, helping them manage anxiety, depression, changing identities, and the impact these experiences can have on their relationships.

I am passionate about helping people strengthen their relationships, gain greater self-awareness, and develop healthier ways of relating to themselves and those around them.

Practice description

Relationships can be one of the greatest sources of happiness in our lives, but they can also leave us feeling hurt, disconnected, frustrated, or stuck. Whether the difficulties are within your relationship with a partner, family member, friend, or even yourself, counselling can provide the opportunity to understand what is happening beneath the surface and create meaningful change.

For couples, I offer a safe and balanced space where both partners can feel heard and understood. My role is not to take sides or decide who is right or wrong, but to help you explore patterns within the relationship, improve communication, rebuild understanding, and work towards the changes you both want to see. Some couples come to strengthen their relationship, while others seek support navigating major life decisions or challenges together.

For individuals, relationship counselling can help you understand recurring patterns, improve self-esteem, establish healthier boundaries, recover from relationship difficulties, and build more fulfilling connections with others.

I offer a warm, friendly, and confidential environment where you can speak openly without fear of judgement or unwanted advice. As an integrative, person-centred therapist, I tailor my approach to your individual needs, drawing on a range of therapeutic techniques to support you in a way that feels right for you.

Many of the people I work with experience anxiety, depression, loss, childhood trauma, low self-worth, or significant life changes that are affecting their relationships. By exploring these experiences together, we can develop a deeper understanding of what is happening, identify new ways forward, and help you feel more confident in yourself and your relationships.

Taking the first step towards counselling can feel daunting, but you do not have to face things alone. Finding the right counsellor is important, and I am happy to answer any questions you may have so you can decide whether I am the right fit for you.

My first session

When you first make contact with me, I will always reply within 24 hours. This will be to instigate a short telephone conversation to find out what you need from Counselling and whether I am a good fit to meet those needs. This gives you the opportunity to ask me questions and to establish whether I am the right counsellor for you

All individual sessions cost £65

All Couples Therapy sessions cost £80

If you choose to leave an email address rather than a telephone number in your initial Enquiry, please be sure to check your spam/ junk mail box as my reply may slip into there. I will always text or email you first (within 24 hours) to arrange a mutually convenient time to speak to protect your confidentiality and privacy. I will be happy to answer any questions you have in this initial telephone call and look forward to speaking with you.

Practice description

There are many stages of our life that will present change and challenges that are difficult to navigate, and it is quite normal to feel ‘stuck’ and unable to move forward on your own – this is where I can help.

I can offer a friendly, warm welcome and a safe space to speak openly and honestly about your thoughts, feelings, and experiences in life without fear of judgement or unwanted advice. You will have the autonomy to take your counselling journey in whatever direction you wish, and I will be alongside you every step of the way, supporting you to gain a better understanding of your feelings, feel more hopeful about your future, and discover which coping strategies will work for you. I work as an integrated person-centred therapist which means I use a range of counselling techniques that allows for an individual approach that will be most appropriate for your needs.

A significant amount of my counselling work has been helping clients with their Relationships which is where many people need help. In addition, I have worked with a lot of clients to help them cope with feelings of Anxiety and Depression. Working through the underlying issue(s) will often bring up deep rooted feelings around bereavement and loss experiences, relationship difficulties and earlier childhood trauma. Discovering and understanding our own self during this process is empowering and can change your perspective and approach to the challenges you are facing and the relationships you struggle with. Our connection with other human beings is important and I enjoy working with both Individuals and couples to improve this aspect.

Often the thought of speaking to someone about these issues can feel daunting which is totally normal. Experience shows that it is sometimes easier to talk to a counsellor, not involved in your life, than it is to talk to family and friends – it is just important to find the right counsellor for you. I am here to support you in this journey.
