About me and my therapy practice

Starting therapy takes courage, so well done for getting this far. If you're feeling stressed, stuck, or just not quite yourself, counselling can help. Maybe work is overwhelming you, relationships feel difficult, or you're dealing with anxiety that won't shift. Whatever's brought you here, you don't need to have it all figured out.

I'm Stuart, a BACP registered integrative counsellor offering in-person counselling for adults in Shoreditch, London, as well as online. I understand how life's pressures can build up and affect your wellbeing. I've had my own experience of burnout, and I've benefited from therapy myself. That firsthand experience showed me just how powerful it is to have someone really listen without judgement and help you make sense of what's going on.

Practice description

I'm an integrative counsellor, which means I draw from different therapeutic approaches depending on what suits you best. Some people just want to talk things through. Others prefer practical strategies they can use straight away. I've got both in my toolkit.

I use person-centred therapy as my foundation because you're the expert on your own life. I won't tell you what to do or push you in any direction. When it's helpful, I bring in CBT techniques for managing anxiety or changing unhelpful thinking patterns. Psychodynamic work helps us explore connections between current struggles and past experiences. Transactional Analysis can help us understand how we relate to others and recognise patterns in our thoughts, feelings and behaviour.

The relationship we build matters most. It's not about me fixing you. It's about supporting you to find your own answers. Some people seek short-term support to get through a rough patch. Others benefit from longer-term therapy to work on deeper issues. We'll work at whatever pace suits you.

My first session

Before we start, I offer a free 10-minute introductory call. This gives us both a chance to talk about what's brought you to counselling, ask any questions, and see if we're a good fit. There's no pressure or obligation.

Sessions last 50 minutes. In-person counselling in Shoreditch costs £75 per session, and online counselling costs £65 per session. Please get in touch to discuss current availability.

Maybe work is overwhelming you, relationships feel difficult, or you're dealing with anxiety that won't shift. Whatever's brought you here, you don't need to have it all figured out.

I'm Stuart, a BACP registered integrative counsellor working with adults in Hertford and online. I understand how life's pressures can build up and affect your wellbeing. I've had my own experience of burnout, and I've benefited from therapy myself. That firsthand experience showed me just how powerful it is to have someone really listen without judgement and help you make sense of what's going on.

Psychodynamic work helps us explore connections between current struggles and past experiences. Transactional Analysis can help us understand how we relate to others and recognise patterns in our thoughts, feelings and behaviour.

I work with people of all backgrounds, and find that practical, straightforward support tends to work well. The relationship we build matters most. It's not about me fixing you. It's about supporting you to find your own answers and build the resilience you need.

I believe counselling should be as accessible as possible, and I aim to keep my fees fair while reflecting the experience and care I bring to my work. Some people seek short-term support to get through a rough patch. Others benefit from longer-term therapy to work on deeper issues. We'll work at whatever pace suits you.

If we decide to work together, sessions last for 50 minutes. First, we'll explore what's troubling you, what you're hoping to get from counselling, and how we might work together. Whether you attend in-person in Hertford or meet with me online, sessions are the same length and the same fee. You can choose whichever works best for you.
