About me and my therapy practice

I am an experienced counsellor and HCPC registered Counselling Psychologist. I support adults experiencing a range of difficulties, including anxiety, OCD, intrusive thoughts, trauma, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, stress and challenging life transitions.

I have a particular interest in OCD and anxiety-related difficulties, including intrusive thoughts, rumination, reassurance seeking, compulsive behaviours, health anxiety, relationship OCD, and fears around harm, responsibility and making mistakes. I also have a special interest in neurodivergence and supporting individuals whose experiences of anxiety, emotions, relationships or self-esteem may be influenced by their neurodivergent profile.

My approach is evidence-based, integrative and collaborative. I draw on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focused Therapy, Schema Therapy, mindfulness and person-centred counselling. I adapt my approach according to your individual needs, circumstances and goals rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach.

I believe counselling should provide a space where you can feel genuinely heard, understood and accepted. I aim to create a warm, safe and non-judgemental environment where you can explore what you are experiencing at your own pace, develop greater self-understanding and work towards meaningful change.

Whether you are struggling with a specific difficulty or have been experiencing longstanding patterns that are affecting your wellbeing, I will work collaboratively with you to understand what is happening and find approaches that feel helpful and manageable.

Practice description

I currently see clients at Healing Conversations Psychotherapy Centre, a private mental health group practice in Central London, and offer online therapy.

I work with adults experiencing a range of emotional and psychological difficulties, from specific concerns such as OCD and anxiety to longer-standing patterns affecting relationships, self-esteem and emotional wellbeing.

Therapy with me is collaborative and tailored to your individual circumstances. We will work together to understand what is contributing to your difficulties, identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and develop practical strategies to help you move forward.

I take a trauma-informed and neurodivergent-aware approach, recognising that people process experiences and respond to therapy in different ways. I adapt the pace, structure and therapeutic approach according to your needs.

Depending on what you are looking for, therapy may be relatively focused and goal-oriented or involve deeper exploration of longstanding patterns and experiences. We will regularly review your progress and goals together so that therapy remains purposeful and relevant.

My aim is to provide a space where you feel heard and understood while also helping you develop greater self-awareness, resilience, self-compassion and confidence in managing life's challenges.

My first session

The first session is an opportunity for us to begin understanding what has brought you to therapy and what you would like to achieve from our work together. I offer 15 minute free call if you are not ready to commit to a full session for initial assessment.

We will discuss your current difficulties, relevant background and what you hope will be different as a result of therapy. I will also explain how I work and answer any questions you may have, so that you can get a sense of whether my approach feels right for you.

There is no expectation that you need to have everything worked out before your first session. We can take time to make sense of what you are experiencing and begin identifying the areas that would be most helpful to focus on.

Where appropriate, we may begin introducing practical strategies from the outset. For OCD and anxiety, this may include developing an understanding of the anxiety cycle, intrusive thoughts, avoidance, reassurance seeking or compulsive behaviours.

I will work collaboratively with you to agree an initial focus and therapeutic goals, and we can review these as therapy progresses.
