About me and my therapy practice
Hello my name is Julia. I am a BACP Accredited Counsellor.
Asking for support takes courage and I believe that understanding & healing can happen when we feel safe enough to be our true selves. I offer a warm, confidential space where you feel heard and understood in a supportive and non-judgmental way.
You may be feeling anxious, low, overwhelmed, misunderstood, disconnected from others. The reasons behind these feelings might be obvious to you, or perhaps seem like a mystery, and despite trying to convince yourself that all is well, those thoughts and feelings are all too real and continue to trouble you.
We will work at your pace with what you feel comfortable sharing. This might include unresolved feelings from the past, conflicts in the present or worries about the future. You will always get to decide what you share and I will use my professional skills to support you in gaining a deeper understanding of yourself, a greater awareness of your choices in working towards personal growth and the possibility of change.
I can provide both short-term and long-term counselling for individuals or couples. I offer 'in person' counselling as well as offering an online / telephone alternative if preferred.
I understand that not everyone knows what they want from therapy or how to choose a therapist to suit their needs. For this reason I offer a free 20-30 minute introductory call on the telephone or Teams.
Practice description
I am experienced in working with anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, family conflicts, sexual identity, work related stress, burn-out, attachment disorder, grief and loss.
My integrative training allows me to adapt different modalities of counselling and psychotherapy to best suit your therapeutic needs.

About me and my therapy practice
The aim of supervision is to provide you, the supervisee, with a collaborative, reflective, and developmental space designed to support and enhance your clinical practice.
As your supervisor, I bring my experience as an integrative counsellor with a Person-Centred core, drawing on elements of Transactional Analysis (TA), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Attachment-Based Psychotherapy.
Attachment theory reminds us that growth and exploration happen best when we feel safe and supported. In supervision, I aim to create a secure, reliable, and attuned relationship that mirrors the kind of holding environment we offer our clients.
This foundation allows us to explore and examine both successes and challenges openly, reflect on relational dynamics in relation to your therapeutic role, and deepen your self-awareness and develop your confidence and competence as a practitioner.
Practice description
Together we will agree the structure of our supervision sessions to maximise the time we have together.
I draw upon the following models and endeavour to use them in a dynamic way to meet your individual needs and the requirements of each session:
• Cyclical Model of Supervision to help us collaborative structure our sessions with a clear focus, space to explore and then bridge our learning into action.
• Inskipp & Proctor’s Three Functions – formative (learning), normative (ethics), and restorative (support).
I will also encourage you to consider your work from an attachment-based lens, analysing your feelings in response to your clients, myself and my response to your clients so that we may deepen our understanding from a relational perspective.
I am an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work in accordance with their Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions.
I offer Supervision sessions in person or on zoom depending on your preference at a rate of £50 per hours and £40 for Students.
