About me and my therapy practice

Many of us experience difficulties at certain points in our lives. Perhaps you feel anxious, distressed, isolated, helpless or burdened? Perhaps something doesn’t feel right in one of your relationships or things in your life feel confusing and it’s hard to know why?

Counselling can provide a confidential space where you can begin to share the things that are troubling you. As a psychodynamic therapist I can offer you a non-judgmental space where you will be listened to with attention and understanding. Together we can explore what is happening for you in your life and begin to understand if what feels difficult today also has a root in the past.

I hold a Masters in Psychodynamic Practice from the University of Oxford. I am a member of UPCA and BACP. I abide by the code of ethics and practice of both bodies.

I have experience working as a psychodynamic therapist within the voluntary counselling sector.

Practice description

I work with individual adults (18+) and offer open-ended in person therapy.

Sessions are held on the same day and time each week which provides a regular space for us to work together.

My clinical practice is situated in Wokingham town centre which provides easy transport links to the surrounding areas.

My first session

It can feel hard to know where to start. You may be thinking about counselling for the first time or have had some counselling in the past. You may have questions and concerns about beginning therapy, so the next step would be for us to have a brief confidential telephone conversation to think about what might feel right for you. You can contact me either by telephone or email and we can arrange a convenient time for us to talk.

If after our telephone conversation, you feel you would like to explore things further, we would meet for two initial 50 minute sessions. This gives us the opportunity to meet each other, for you to ask any questions that you might have and for me to gain an understanding of how I may help you at this time. There is no obligation at this stage, we would discuss together if continuing to ongoing therapy is something you would like to consider.
