I am currently taking on new clients.
I work online, weekday evenings and at weekends. Sessions are 50 minutes, and I will usually be able to offer you the same time slot each week.
If you would like to check what I have free, get in touch and we can arrange a free 20 minute phone call.
About me and my therapy practice
I am an integrative therapist and I work online with adults across the UK.
Most people turn to therapy when things have become too hard to carry on their own. That might be for anxiety, low mood, the impact of trauma, difficulty in relationships, or a sense of not really knowing who you are outside of what other people need from you. I also work a great deal with addiction and recovery.
I start with the therapeutic relationship between us. I will not rush you and I will not tell you what your experience means. I listen, I ask questions, and I say what I notice. Some sessions are about understanding where a pattern started. Others are more practical, working out what you want to do differently and how you might do it.
Integrative means I draw on more than one way of working rather than using the same method with everyone. Person centred therapy is my foundation. I also use psychodynamic thinking, particularly around attachment and the ways we learn to protect ourselves, along with ideas from CBT, DBT and transactional analysis where they are useful to you.
Race, culture, faith, language and background shape how people understand themselves and what they feel able to say out loud. I have worked with clients from many different backgrounds, and I welcome conversation about difference, including where it exists between us.
Practice description
I qualified in 2023 and I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. That means I work to their ethical framework and am accountable to them.
My qualifications are a BSc (Hons) in Psychotherapeutic Counselling and a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling.
I also have more than ten years experience working in mental health, including several years in NHS mental health services. Alongside my private practice I work as a therapist in a private rehabilitation service, supporting adults with substance use alongside trauma, anxiety, depression , neurodivasity, and difficulties in relationships. I also work in charitable and voluntary sector counselling services.
My private practice is online and I see adults only. I offer both short term and open ended work, and we review how things are going at regular points so you can tell me what is helping and what is not.
I hold professional indemnity insurance and have regular clinical supervision, as required by the BACP.
My first session
I offer a free 20 minute phone call. It is a chance to tell me briefly what is going on, ask me anything you want to know, and get a sense of whether I am the right person for you. There is no obligation afterwards.
The first full session is 50 minutes and you do not need to prepare anything. Some people arrive wanting to talk about one specific thing. Others prefer to give me the wider picture and see where that leads. Either is fine, and we go at a pace you are comfortable with.
I will ask what you are hoping to get out of therapy and we will agree how to work together, either open ended or for an agreed number of sessions. Nothing is fixed, and we can change the plan as we go.
I keep a small number of reduced fee places. If cost is what is stopping you, please say so on the phone call and we will see what is possible.
