About me and my therapy practice
My name is Rosella. I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), working in accordance with their Ethical Framework.
Seeking therapy may reflect feelings of anxiety, confusion, loss, burnout, or inadequacy. Each of us has a unique story, and I would be honoured to listen to yours. Therapy offers an opportunity to reshape how you think, feel, and act.
My theoretical approach, based on the Relational Integrative Model, blends various modalities tailored to your unique needs. I prioritize building an authentic, trusting connection, essential for effective therapy and healing. Within this approach, I may explore your childhood and past experiences as they influence your present thoughts, behaviours, and relations. My goal is to foster self-awareness and self-compassion, empowering you to break negative patterns and move forward.
My experience includes working with primary school children, teenagers and adults in various settings, including organisations such as the Sutton Women’s Centre and Place2Be. I have supported individuals facing a range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, domestic abuse, panic attacks, anger management, self-harm, relationship difficulties, grief, loss, low self-confidence, and low self-esteem, among others.
Additionally, drawing from my corporate travel background, spanning various roles and international experiences, I bring a heightened empathy for workplace mental health issues, addressing challenges like stress, anxiety, work fatigue and burnout. Having lived and worked internationally, I've gained insights into diverse cultures, deepening my understanding of issues related to belonging and identity.
As a former volleyball player and passionate swimmer and yoga practitioner, I embrace an active, healthy lifestyle. I believe exercise builds self-confidence, resilience, and a strong mind-body connection, inspiring my holistic approach to well-being.
Practice description
I provide individual counselling for adults, children and teenagers, offering both short- and long-term support.
For children, I integrate play therapy, a powerful tool that helps them express emotions and experiences in a natural, non-verbal way.
My goal is to create a warm, compassionate, and confidential space free of judgment, where you can embark on your therapeutic journey. Together, we navigate and explore your experiences and emotions at a pace that feels comfortable to you, deepening your self-awareness and understanding of relationships for personal growth and empowerment. I recognise that you are the expert of your own being, and with the right conditions and environment, you have the ability to flourish and realise your full potential. This process opens the door to living a more authentic, meaningful, and creative life.
My first session
In our first session, we have the opportunity to get to know each other and discuss your concerns. We will explore what you aim to achieve through therapy, strategising how to reach your goals collaboratively. This serves as a chance to determine if we are a good therapeutic "fit" for each other, assessing the strength of our connection.
Additionally, we will explore the potential impact of therapy on your well-being, crafting a working agreement to align our expectations and addressing any questions you may have.
Establishing trust is crucial in our therapeutic relationship, making this introductory session an important foundation for our work together.
