About me and my therapy practice
I’m Georgia. I’m a qualified and BACP-registered counsellor offering LGBTQIA+ affirming counselling in Folkestone, across Kent, and online across the UK. I provide a warm, confidential and non-judgemental space where you can explore whatever feels difficult, confusing or overwhelming in your life.
I understand how important it is to feel genuinely seen, respected and safe in therapy. My practice is inclusive and trauma-informed, and I can provide LGBTQIA+ affirming therapy for anxiety, depression, emotional distress, or navigating life transitions and changes.
I might also be the right therapist for you if you live with more complex and enduring mental health conditions. I have supported clients living with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD/EUPD), Bipolar Disorder, or a history of psychosis, as well as those who may have experienced long-term emotional distress or repeated crises. I offer consistent, relational support and can work collaboratively alongside other services where appropriate. I hope that therapy with me can be a space to better understand your patterns, manage emotional intensity, and build greater stability and self-compassion for yourself.
I provide counselling for anxiety, depression and trauma in Folkestone, as well as supporting you to explore your gender identity, coming out, neurodivergence, burnout, or relationship difficulties. My aim is not to fix you, but to help you feel more grounded, understood, and empowered in your own life.
Practice description
I am an integrative psychotherapist, which means I draw on a variety of counselling approaches to create a way of working that is personalised to you and responsive to your needs. Whether you come to counselling in Folkestone, across Kent, or online, my focus is always on supporting you in a way that feels safe, consistent, and collaborative.
At the heart of my work is the therapeutic relationship. We may explore how patterns in your other relationships, such as with family, friends, or partners show up in the therapy room. I also draw on attachment-based and psychodynamic approaches, which can help us understand how your past experiences influence your present. I draw from Internal Family Systems (IFS) to explore different “parts” of you that may show up in inner conflicts, emotional busyness, or dysregulation.
I also integrate DBT skills and mindfulness techniques. These approaches provide practical tools to help you manage intense emotions, stay grounded, and notice thoughts and feelings without judgment. Together, these methods are tailored to your needs, helping you feel more stable, self-aware, and understood.
My approach is always collaborative. I work alongside you, offering compassionate support and gentle challenge where helpful, in a warm and non-judgemental space. Therapy is about uncovering what matters to you, at your own pace, and creating a space where you can feel understood, supported, and empowered.
My first session
Starting counselling can feel daunting, and it’s normal to have lots of questions about what therapy might involve. My aim is to provide a safe, welcoming space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace.
In the first session, we’ll spend time getting to know each other and exploring what brought you to counselling. This isn’t about fixing anything immediately; it’s about creating a space where you feel understood and safe. We’ll discuss:
Your reasons for seeking support
Any questions or concerns about therapy
How you’d like our sessions to work, including frequency, length, and what feels most comfortable for you
I offer a free 20-minute introductory call if you’d like to ask questions before booking your first session. This is an opportunity to see whether my approach feels like a good fit for you.
