About me and my therapy practice

I'm an experienced, knowledgeable, and passionate therapist offering psychotherapy from an existential perspective.

This means exploring your concerns from multiple angles: meaning, values, past experience, relationships, with the aim of understanding not just what's going on, but what it means to you, and building real resilience in the choices you make. I encourage a move toward personal autonomy, so you can feel grounded in your own values and beliefs. A philosophical lens lets us question fixed narratives and old beliefs that may no longer serve you.

You might be feeling overwhelmed, confused, low, anxious, struggling in relationships, or simply not quite yourself. Perhaps you recognise shame, a harsh inner critic, rumination, or sensitivity to rejection.

My approach is honest, kind, and curious, with no fixed agenda. I have a particular interest in shame, inner-child work, conflict, and relationships. Greater self-awareness can be genuinely liberating, giving you the strength to make the choices and changes you need.

Practice description

Low self-worth, shame, and a critical inner voice can quietly stand in the way of understanding what's really going on.

In therapy, we listen to these parts directly and get curious about what they need, and what they're afraid of. This is where real self-awareness begins: without it, we can feel trapped in situations and stuck in cycles that no longer serve us; with it, choices start to become clear, and change starts to feel possible.

Possible benefits of therapy:

Clarity and a greater sense of self-awareness

Letting go of shame, self-judgement, and the bullying inner critic

Becoming more at ease with anxiety

Developing skills to understand and improve your relationships

Embracing choice, freedom, and personal autonomy

A greater sense of resilience and trust in yourself

A deeper understanding of past experience and future possibility

Looking for the right therapist can feel daunting. That's why I offer a free 30-minute phone call, a chance to talk through your concerns and get a feel for how I work. If it feels like we'd work well together, we can go ahead and book your first session.

My first session

I offer a FREE 30 mins phone or zoom session to discuss what you would like from therapy and to see if we'd be a good fit to work together.

About me and my therapy practice

Reaching out can be hard, and life's difficulties are rarely simple to untangle on your own. You might be feeling overwhelmed, confused, low, or anxious, struggling in your relationships, or simply aware that something doesn't feel right.

I'm an experienced therapist and BACP member, currently furthering my professional studies on an MSc in Existential Psychotherapy at Middlesex University. I work collaboratively, exploring what feels hard for you, the beliefs you hold about yourself, and what it's like to be in relationship with the people around you. Through dialogue, we can begin to make sense of these thoughts and feelings, noticing things that might be sitting just outside your awareness.

I encourage a shift away from judgement and blame, toward greater self-awareness and clarity, where choices start to feel possible again. Without that awareness, it's easy to feel trapped, stuck in cycles that no longer serve you. Low self-worth, shame, and a critical inner voice can all stand in the way of understanding what's really going on. In therapy, we listen to these parts directly, and get curious about what they need, and what they're afraid of.

Whatever you're facing, it can help to talk things through with someone neutral and outside your usual circle, in a space that's safe and confidential. I bring a down-to-earth approach to this work, gently opening up room for new possibilities and perspectives. My approach is relational: I reflect back what you bring, and I believe strongly that you should stay in control of your own therapeutic process.

Possible benefits of therapy:

Clarity, and openness to multiple perspectives

Letting go of shame, self-judgement, and the bullying inner critic

Feeling more at ease with anxiety, and experiencing it less often

Developing skills to understand and improve your relationships

Embracing choice, freedom, and personal autonomy

A greater sense of resilience and trust in yourself

A deeper understanding of past experience and future possibility

Practice description

My approach

As an integrative therapist, I draw on a range of theoretical approaches and shape my work around each individual relationship, chiefly informed by humanistic and existential thinking. I have a particular interest in inner-child work, shame, and helping clients open up to a worldview with more room for possibility and choice. I hold a space that is genuinely non-judgemental, steady, and supportive, somewhere you can feel safe sitting with difficult emotions.

I encourage clients to bring the whole of themselves, and to know that every part of their self, history, or experience, including the parts they like least, is genuinely welcome.

Training, qualifications & experience

I originalally trained and qualified in Integrative Therapeutic Counselling (Level 4 Diploma, CPCAB), and I'm currently furthering my studies toward a Masters in Existential Psychotherapy at NSPC/Middlesex University. This approach draws directly on philosophical ideas, with its focus on meaning, lived experience, and personal values and beliefs, addressing the often deep-rooted anxieties of existence and life's limitations.

Before training as a therapist, I had a long career spanning pastoral care, music, and education. I hold a BA (Hons) in Music from the University of Bristol and a PGCE in Secondary Education from Bath Spa University. For the past two years, I've worked as a counsellor at a large mental health charity in Swindon, alongside my private practice in Wiltshire.

If you'd like to work with me, I offer a free 30 minute phone call where we can chat about your expectations of therapy and my approach. It's a great opportunity to see if we'd be a good fit to work together.

This means exploring your concerns from multiple angles: meaning, values, past experience, and relationships, with the aim of understanding not just what's going on, but what it means to you, and building real resilience in the choices you make. A philosophical lens lets us question fixed narratives and old beliefs that may no longer serve you, opening up more possibility and new perspectives, and moving you toward greater personal autonomy and choice.

You might be feeling overwhelmed, lost, low, anxious, or confused, struggling in your relationships, or simply not feeling like yourself. Perhaps you recognise shame, a harsh inner critic, rumination, or sensitivity to rejection.

About me and my therapy practice

I'm an experienced integrative psychotherapist with a particular interest in existential philosophy and the ways we make sense of ourselves, our relationships, and our lives.

I offer a warm, collaborative space where difficult experiences can be explored openly and honestly. Therapy should feel safe, but I also believe it works best when we can be direct with each other. Together, we'll look at what's troubling you, including the thoughts and feelings that can be hardest to acknowledge: shame, self-criticism, conflict, or a sense that something just isn't right.

You might be feeling anxious, overwhelmed, low, stuck in patterns that keep repeating, or struggling in your relationships. Whatever brings you to therapy, my approach is compassionate, curious, and transparent. I'll help you explore your experience from different angles, so you can build a clearer, more honest understanding of yourself, without judgement and without a fixed agenda. My role is to work alongside you as you make sense of things and find your own way forward.

I have a particular interest in shame, inner-child work, relationships, and conflict. In my experience, self-awareness is what opens the door to real choice. Without it, we can stay trapped in situations and cycles that no longer serve us; with it, things start to become clearer, and change starts to feel possible.

Areas I work with include:

Anxiety, depression, shame, relationship difficulties, trauma, identity, personal values, and meaning.
