About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I’m Sandra, a counsellor based in Warrington, Cheshire.
At times in life, we can feel overwhelmed by our thoughts and emotions. You may be struggling with difficult experiences, feeling stuck, or unsure how to move forward. Talking in a safe, supportive space can help you make sense of what is happening and begin to regain a sense of control.
I understand how important it is to feel heard, understood and safe when sharing personal experiences. In our sessions, we can explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace, helping you rediscover your strengths and find ways to cope with life’s challenges.
I am a person-centred counsellor working with an integrative approach. This means I believe you are the expert in your own life, and my role is to support you in finding the path that feels right for you. I aim to provide a warm, non-judgmental environment where you can openly talk about what matters to you.
I work with adults experiencing a range of difficulties, including anxiety, depression, loss, trauma and addiction. and neurodivergent experiences such as autism (ASD) and ADHD. I aim to provide a supportive and understanding environment that respects individual differences and ways of experiencing life.
I also have four years of experience supporting a daily oncology unit within an NHS setting, providing counselling to patients, families and carers following a cancer diagnosis. I understand how deeply such experiences can affect emotional well-being, often bringing feelings of fear, uncertainty and anxiety.
I aim to help you feel heard, understood and better equipped to navigate life’s challenges. I bring warmth, creativity and empathy to my work.
Practice description
Thinking about counselling can feel like a big step, but you don't have to do it alone. If you feel that counselling might help, you are welcome to contact me for an initial chat. This gives us a chance to explore what you're looking for and whether working together feels right for you.
I offer a calm, warm, and confidential space where you can talk openly at your own pace. My practice is designed to feel comfortable and relaxed, allowing you time and space to reflect, feel heard, and begin to make sense of your experiences.
My first session
I offer a free 20 Minute introductory session by phone or video call, which will allow you to explore your therapy needs and ask any questions.
I adapt my approach to suit the individual I am working with, as every person's needs are unique. I value the therapeutic relationship as the most vital part. I believe that a strong therapeutic relationship is an important part of effective counselling, and it is important that you feel comfortable with your counsellor. I will go over the counselling contract and make sure we are both aware of the expectations of each other moving forward into the counselling relationship.
During our first session, we will explore what has brought you to counselling, talk about any current challenges you may be facing, and begin to identify what you would like to gain from therapy.
