About me and my therapy practice

Hello and welcome, my name is Tracie.

I am a Supervisor and Person-Centred Counsellor, and work with clients of all ages, groups and communities in the ‘here and now’. My area of specialism is Children & Young People (CYP), which means my service is also underpinned by an evidence-based, Integrative approach, and draws from a range of therapeutic techniques that are personalized to each individual client.

The first step to begin counselling can be daunting. I’m here to support clients challenged by anxiety, depression, unresolved trauma, or lack confidence and self-esteem. I focus on the whole person, listen, observe and notice without judgement, and see my clients for who they really are. I pride myself on the ability to work openly and non-judgmentally cross-culturally, and in so doing enable clients to become acquainted with their many facets, see beyond the surface and ‘permit’ them to be who they truly are.

At the heart of my counselling philosophy is the quality of the therapist-client relationship. It is important for me to ensure that the client feels safe and comfortable enough to open up, by first building trust. I believe the client is the expert of their own experiences. My purpose is to facilitate and support you along your journey. When a client feels they are truly seen and understood without judgement, the potential for healing is created and effect change.

As a Registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy), I adhere to their Code of Ethics and Ethical Framework, to keep both client and therapist safe. My sessions are face-to-face, online via Zoom or by phone.

Practice description

My practice is based in Kent with locations in Dartford and Bexleyheath. All sessions, including the initial assessment session, are 50-minutes in length. I offer a free initial 15-minute telephone consultation, at a mutually agreeable time, to give you the opportunity to discuss your needs and what I am able to offer you.

Therapy can be either short term brief focused or longer term. After the initial session I usually recommend a commitment to a minimum of at least six sessions to allow the therapeutic work to develop and have an impact. However, the number of sessions is always open-ended and I will be guided by you and your needs.

I have been successful counselling a wide range of client ages from children and young people, to adults of all ages. I provide one-to-one supervision and individual counselling sessions face-to-face, online via Zoom or by phone.

Our first session will be an assessment session to find out more about you, your history, and what your needs and goals are for our therapeutic work together.
