About me and my therapy practice

If you’ve found yourself here, you might be wondering whether counselling could be the right step for you. Perhaps you're facing something in your life that feels overwhelming; maybe you’ve been feeling disconnected, as though life has lost its spark, and you’re searching for greater meaning and purpose.

Counselling made a profound difference in my own life during a time of crisis. It gave me a space to feel truly seen and supported, perhaps for the first time. Through this process, I began to understand and accept myself, which allowed me to make choices that aligned more closely with what I truly wanted. This experience continues to inspire my work and my belief in the transformative potential of therapy.

My experience includes working with anxiety, depression, grief, identity, addiction, abuse, prejudice, disordered eating, trauma, chronic pain, ADHD, relationship issues and life transitions amongst other things, and I welcome people from all walks of life.

Whatever has brought you here, taking this step takes courage. It’s not easy to reach out, but it can be transformative to have someone walk alongside you, helping you to explore what’s at the root of your struggles and how to navigate a way through. If you’d like to discuss how we might work together, I encourage you to get in touch.

Practice description

I’m trained in Psychosynthesis Counselling, a unique and integrative form of therapy that works with the whole of you; your thoughts, feelings, body, and even the deeper, often spiritual aspects of life. This doesn’t mean religious, but rather an acknowledgment of your innate potential for growth, meaning, and connection.

Psychosynthesis views challenges, crises, and even failures as opportunities for transformation; moments where we can uncover and embrace a more authentic version of ourselves.

It asks us to explore not just what’s causing pain or struggle, but also what these moments might be trying to reveal. Perhaps a part of you that’s been neglected is calling out to be heard. Perhaps an old way of being no longer serves you and is ready to evolve.

I believe that you are the expert on your own life, even if you feel lost at times. My role is to support you in reconnecting with your inner wisdom and resources, helping you to navigate your challenges with compassion and curiosity.

My approach is flexible and creative, drawing on a variety of therapeutic techniques to suit your unique needs. While our work may centre on traditional talking therapy, I often incorporate other tools such as imagery, visualisation, writing, and body-based (somatic) techniques, when words alone don’t feel enough. Psychosynthesis also considers the many roles we play in life, and helps bring these into harmony so they work together rather than in conflict.

Above all, Psychosynthesis offers a holistic and adaptable way of working, recognising that our mental health is influenced by many factors, including our relationships, physical health, and environment. Together, we can explore your experiences with compassion and curiosity, creating space for new possibilities to emerge.

My first session

The prospect of meeting a stranger (even online) for therapy can feel understandably daunting. I offer a free 25-minute phone call or zoom for us to get acquainted and make sure you feel comfortable with me as your therapist. There’s no obligation to continue if it doesn’t feel like the right fit, and if that’s the case, I encourage you to keep searching for someone who feels like a better match.

If you’d like to arrange a free consultation, please email me using the contact form, with a little about what’s bringing you to therapy, and the days and times you’re available for a call. If after our call we decide to continue, we’ll arrange a weekly session at a mutually convenient time. I suggest starting with six sessions to explore what brings you to counselling. After this, we can discuss whether to continue longer-term, or in a time focused way, or bring our work to a close.

Fees
I understand that money can be a barrier to seeking support. I have a 3 tier system where I encourage you to choose what feels right for you based on your situation — £55, £60, or £65 per session.
