About me and my therapy practice

Counselling is a highly personal experience and finding the right person for you is crucial, so is working in your way at your pace. Especially when chronic illness, trauma or bereavement may have left you feeling out of control in your own life.

During counselling we will explore what goals you aim to achieve and work together to remove barriers in your way to achieving this.

For some clients looking back into their childhood or earlier years can feel irrelevant, now how about looking at this a different way? Buildings need firm foundations to prevent them from falling down or subsiding over time. They need good materials to build the outside to shelter the inside from weathering and other damage. Your early years of life are your foundations. Now this does not mean that we need to go over every part of your past. However it may be that we need to discover where there are cracks in your foundation to help repair these, to prevent your building from collapsing.

As a person centred counsellor I firmly believe that every client has the ability to reach their own goals. Sometimes this will be focused solely on the present. Other times curiosity may be needed around your foundations to help us better understand your present life and to fix any cracks that may be appearing.

Clients often state that they put their feelings to one side and put a brave face on for others or help others first and then forget to allow themselves the time to process their own feelings. They comment on feeling like a volcano ready to erupt, as these squashed feelings are bubbling below the surface ready to explode any moment. By coming to counselling this gives you a safe place to let these emotions out, in a contained space each week until you feel like you again, or maybe discover the real you for the first time.

Reach out today via email to get an initial call booked in and start your journey back to you.

Practice description

Sessions can either be in person within my own private counselling space, where there is easy parking right outside. Or if you would prefer we can do online video call sessions, or telephone calls

In addition we can take our sessions out into nature and do some walk and talk therapy enjoying our natural surroundings. For many being outdoors with nature can help them to relax and feel more connected to the world around them. If this is something that interests you we can discuss during our first call.

One to one in person 50 minute sessions £50

One to one online video call or phone call 50 minute sessions £50

Reaching out can be the toughest step for many and it can often be about timing, therefore please contact me via email to allow you 24 hours each day for you to reach out. I will respond as soon as I can usually within 7 days. If you would prefer to call you can do this leaving me a voicemail with a way to contact you and suitable times to contact you.

My first session

Once you have reached out to book some sessions I will arrange a time to call for an initial 15 - 30 minute phone call, this will give you opportunity to ask any questions you may have and for me to gather some information. This phone call will be free of charge.

During this call we will arrange sessions at a time that suits you that will occur the same time each week for 50 minutes at the cost of £50 which is to be paid 48 hours before each session.
