About me and my therapy practice
As a member of the BACP I work in a meaningful way to support individuals in their developing deeper understandings of themselves and their circumstances. This process often opens the door to new opportunities for self-help and personal growth.
I practice within the Person-Centred modality, a compassionate form of talking therapy. My approach is collaborative and client-led: together, we will explore the issues you choose to bring into our sessions, the client sets the pace and determines the focus of our work in each session. There is no rule saying we must stick with one topic unless the client wants to.
My role in sessions is to provide a calm, supportive, and judgment-free space where you can feel truly heard. Whether you’re seeking clarity, healing, or simply a safe place to share, my aim is to help you navigate your path forward in a way that feels right for you.
Practice description
I offer primarily face-to-face counselling in Worcester, with remote sessions via phone or video for flexibility when life makes attending in person difficult.
I work in a warm, collaborative way, providing a space where you can feel heard and understood without judgement. Together, we can explore patterns in your thoughts, feelings and behaviours, helping you gain insight and move towards meaningful change.
Clients often come to me when they feel stuck, overwhelmed or unsure of how to move forward, whether in relationships, work, or with their own sense of identity. I believe that counselling can help you build a stronger relationship with yourself, developing clarity and resilience to navigate life’s challenges.
Following an initial assessment usually conducted over the phone at no charge, we will discuss on what you wish to explore, the goals you would like to work towards, and how we might achieve these over time, at a pace that feels right for you.
I understand that seeking counselling can feel daunting, and I aim to make the process as comfortable and straightforward as possible.
My first session
The first session is typically more of a getting to know you kind of session.
While we can and likely will talk about the issues that you are facing the chances of us going particularly deep into them is reduced.
This is usually due to the general filling of details between the client and myself for context alongside general familiarisation of the clients life.
This session is also useful for a client to get a sense of myself and whether we "click" the relationship between client and therapist is vital so getting a feel this early is important.
