About me and my therapy practice
How I work...
Life’s transitions can sometimes leave us feeling uncertain, disconnected, or without purpose. Whether it’s a career change, retirement, the end of a relationship, children leaving home, or health challenges, you may find yourself asking: “Who am I now?” or “What comes next?”
I specialise in supporting adults (18+) through these periods of change. Together, we can explore the impact of transition, reconnect with your values, and discover new meaning and direction. My approach is integrative, drawing from different therapeutic models to suit your needs — including CBT, mindfulness, humanistic, and existential perspectives.
Clients often describe my style as gentle and calming, helping them feel safe, supported, and deeply understood. I provide a space where you can process difficult emotions, gain clarity, and build confidence to move forward.
With a background in both corporate life and holistic therapies, I bring an understanding of how stress, loss, and life’s demands affect both mind and body. I believe that, with the right support, times of transition can become opportunities for growth and renewal.
If this resonates with you, I invite you to get in touch for an initial conversation.
To facilitate your search I offer a free call to determine whether I am the right therapist for you. There is no obligation and these and all ongoing sessions are strictly confidential and adhere to the ethical guidelines of the BACP. The first full session will be fifty minutes and I charge my regular fee of £70.00 per session.
I am a degree qualified Counsellor & Psychotherapist and a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy.
Practice description
In my practice, clients can expect a calm, supportive, and confidential space to explore life’s changes and transitions. I work integratively, tailoring each session to your unique needs, helping you make sense of shifts in relationships, career, identity, or other life circumstances. Together, we’ll explore what matters most to you, uncover your values, and find ways to reconnect with a sense of purpose.
I offer both short-term therapy, which provides focused support for a specific challenge or transition, and long-term therapy, which allows us to explore deeper patterns and ongoing life questions. You’ll receive guidance, reflection, and encouragement as you navigate change, build resilience, and move forward with clarity and confidence. Sessions are held at a pace that feels right for you, whether face-to-face or online.
My first session
Taking that first step can be daunting. I understand that for some people talking about what brings them to counselling can feel quite scary. It may well be the first time you’ve spoken out loud about what’s on your mind. You may feel resistance. Insecurities may surface….Will they judge me, will they be able to understand? Will they be able to help me?
I offer a free introductory call where we get to know one another and for you to get a sense of me and how I work. We will explore what brings you to therapy, what changes you hope to see and discuss whether my expertise is the right fit for you. What is most important, is that you feel comfortable and safe speaking to me, and that I feel like the right fit for you.
There is no obligation and these and all ongoing sessions are strictly confidential and adhere to the ethical guidelines of the BACP. If we agree that we can work together we will progress to arranging a weekly counselling session.
What to expect during a 50 minute therapy session:
Settling In – We begin by checking in with how you’re arriving that day, creating a moment to pause and ground before we begin.
Exploring What’s Present – You share what feels most important or pressing, whether that’s a current challenge, a transition you’re navigating, or feelings you’d like to understand more deeply.
Working Together – I listen carefully and ask gentle questions to help you explore your thoughts and feelings. Sometimes we might look at past experiences, other times we focus on what’s happening right now, and occasionally I may guide you to notice how your body is responding — as this can give useful clues about what you’re going through.
Reflection & Integration – Toward the end of the session, we take time to gather what has emerged, noticing any new perspectives or shifts.
Closing – We end in a grounded way, so you leave with a sense of steadiness and clarity to carry into your week.
