About me and my therapy practice
I’m a psychotherapist with a background in the arts. I often work with people who seem to hold things together on the outside, but internally find themselves overwhelmed, overthinking, becoming anxious, or withdrawing in ways that are hard to fully understand.
You might find yourself holding things in, worrying that you’re too much or not enough, or pushing through when something inside doesn’t feel settled. At times you may notice yourself becoming tense or watchful, going over interactions afterwards, or going blank or distant when things feel too much. You may also find yourself pulling back when someone starts to feel emotionally close, even if part of you wants the connection.
I will offer you a space where we can look carefully at what’s happening for you, especially in the moments that feel most difficult or confusing. Together, we’ll begin to understand these experiences, while also taking time to explore how the patterns behind them have taken shape over time. Rather than trying to fix or rush things, we’ll slow the process down and allow a clearer understanding to emerge.
You will begin to feel more steady in yourself, with less of that sense of being pulled into cycles of worry or self-doubt. You will find yourself staying with experiences rather than overthinking them afterwards, and finding it easier to remain present with others when things feel emotionally close. Experiences from the past may also begin to feel less immediate, so that you have more space to respond in the present rather than being carried by old reactions.
My background in the arts means I’m comfortable staying with complexity and emotional intensity, without needing to simplify or move too quickly away from what’s difficult. You don’t need to arrive with the right words or a clear story. We can begin wherever you are and take things at a pace that feels manageable.
