About me and my therapy practice
Are you struggling beneath the appearance of coping, self-reliance or even creativity? I became a therapist after a long career in the arts and I help people with anxiety, relationship difficulties, trauma, low self-esteem and emotional overwhelm.
Perhaps you find yourself overthinking interactions, constantly doubting yourself, or holding things in because you’re unsure how much to trust others, or even yourself. May be you feel disconnected from your feelings, exhausted by trying to keep everything together, or find that life and relationships affect you very deeply.
Therapy
Therapy will give you a space where you no longer have to manage everything on your own. I will offer a calm and supportive relationship where we can begin to make sense of what is happening and help things feel more manageable. We will look at what is affecting you now, alongside the deeper experiences that may be shaping the way you relate to yourself and others, so that life begins to feel clearer and less overwhelming. Our work together will help you respond differently to patterns that leave you feeling stuck, emotionally drained, or hard on yourself.
Change
As therapy progresses, people often find that they feel calmer in themselves, more grounded, more able to cope and less caught in anxiety, self-criticism, or overthinking. Relationships can begin to feel less effortful, and emotions less consuming. You may find it becomes easier to set boundaries, speak more openly about what you feel, trust your reactions more, and feel less emotionally pulled by the needs and expectations around you.
My background in the arts means I’m comfortable working with complexity, sensitivity, and emotional intensity, without needing to simplify your experience or move too quickly towards solutions. Deeper understanding will lead to meaningful and lasting change. You do not need to arrive with the right words or a neatly explained story. We can begin wherever you are and work at a pace that feels manageable.
