About me and my therapy practice

I am a BSc (Hons) qualified person-centred counsellor and member of the BACP. Through Jo Sutton Therapy & Wellbeing, I am to offer a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space where you can feel heard, understood and accepted.

My approach is rooted in the work of Carl Rogers, built on empathy, acceptance and genuine understanding. I will work alongside you at your own pace, supporting you to explore your feelings, make sense of your experiences and find your own way forward.

I also hold a TQUK Level 2 certificate (RQF) in Self-Harm and Suicide Awareness, reflecting my commitment to developing my knowledge and providing sensitive, compassionate support.

Practice description

I offer face-to-face and online counselling, with sessions lasting 50 minutes. I work with clients on both sort-term and long-term basis, depending on individual needs and what feels right for you.

Sessions can take place weekly, fortnightly or monthly, offering flexibility to find a rhythm that suits you. My person-centred approach means we work at your pace, with no pressure or expectation to have everything figured out. Whether you are looking for support with a specific difficulty or a space for ongoing self-exploration, you will be met with empathy, acceptance and understanding.

My first session

I offer a free 15-minute initial consultation, giving us the opportunity to meet, discuss what has brought you to counselling and explore whether working together feels right for you. It is also a chance for you to ask any questions and learn a little more about my approach.

There is no pressure or obligation to continue. Taking the first step can feel daunting, so my aim is to help you feel comfortable, heard and supported from the very beginning.
