About me and my therapy practice
Are you fed up with feeling anxious? Are you exhausted from feeling like you're not enough? If anxiety and self-doubt is holding you back from living the life you want, therapy can help you to challenge your negative self-beliefs and build confidence, develop self-compassion and silence your self-doubt.
Do you feel like you are not worthy of love or friendship? Do you say “yes” to everything, when you really wanted to say No!? Do you feel guilty when you set boundaries with others?
Counselling can help transform how you feel about yourself by:
- Learning to set healthy boundaries without guilt or fear of rejection
- Feel more secure in yourself and your relationships
- Learn to love and accept who you are – helping you to feel that you are good enough just as you are!
- Have more belief in yourself and your abilities
- Feel less anxious in social situations
Having experienced social anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, stress, family difficulties and narcissistic abuse myself, I know and understand how overwhelming these things can feel. I know how they can affect your life. I also know and understand how daunting it can feel seeking support through counselling.
You may have many questions right now; you may not be sure if counselling is for you or if you did have counselling, what you would say or how does it work. I still remember the anxiety I felt when I first reached out and asked for support which is why I greet you with warmth and friendliness.
With 3 years experience of supporting women at Derbyshire Wish, a domestic abuse charity, I have helped women navigate the deep impact of trauma, anxiety, and low self-esteem. I understand how past experiences can shape self-worth and confidence, and I have gained the experience and knowledge to help you navigate your journey.
Practice description
As a Pluralistic counsellor, I’m trained in Psychodynamic, Humanistic, and CBT approaches. The benefit of being a Pluralistic counsellor is that I have more “tools” in my toolbox to help you work through whatever you need at the beginning of your journey and I can respond to your changing needs as therapy progresses. One size does not fit all, and I can provide you with an approach that is as unique as you are.
Since starting my private practice, I have helped many clients learn to love and accept themselves. These clients have shared how counselling has helped them feel “good enough”, that they are able embrace new opportunities with confidence and self-belief and that they can prioritise themselves without feeling guilty. They feel confident and secure in themselves and their relationships, finally living the life they deserve.
My first session
Seeking help takes courage—especially when anxiety feels overwhelming, or low self-esteem makes even small tasks feel impossible.
I understand how difficult it can be to take that first step, which is why I offer a warm, approachable, and non-judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace. Our therapeutic relationship is at the heart of this process—feeling truly heard and understood can be a powerful step towards healing and change.
Whether you are struggling with anxiety, self-doubt, or feelings of unworthiness, I can help you develop coping strategies that work for you, regain control, and build confidence in yourself. Therapy can also support you in navigating relationships, finding your voice, and ultimately reconnecting with your true self. My goal is to help you move forward towards a life where you feel more empowered, self-accepting, and at peace with who you are.
In our first session, we will discuss how we can work together, including confidentiality and what you can expect from therapy. Most importantly, I will listen—without judgment—to understand your unique experiences and help us find the best way forward for you.
