Availability

I currently have availability for new clients and welcome enquiries for both short-term and longer-term psychotherapy.

I offer therapy online throughout the UK and, where appropriate, in-person appointments from my practice in Suffolk.

Appointments are available during weekdays, with a range of daytime and limited evening sessions to accommodate different work and family commitments. Current availability may vary, so please get in touch to discuss what would work best for you.

If you are unsure whether I am the right therapist for your needs, I am happy to arrange a brief initial telephone consultation. This provides an opportunity to discuss what has brought you to therapy, answer any questions you may have, and consider whether working together feels like the right fit.

I aim to respond to all enquiries within one to two working days. If I am away from my practice for annual leave or professional training, my out-of-office message will let you know when I will return and when you can expect a reply.

If I believe another therapist or service would be better suited to your needs, I will always let you know and, where possible, suggest appropriate alternatives.

I appreciate that taking the first step into therapy can feel daunting, and I aim to make the process as straightforward, welcoming and supportive as possible.

About me and my therapy practice

People come to therapy for many reasons. You may be feeling anxious, overwhelmed, emotionally stuck, struggling in relationships, living with the effects of trauma, or simply sensing that life no longer feels as fulfilling or authentic as it once did. Whatever brings you here, my aim is to provide a safe, compassionate and non-judgemental space where we can begin to make sense of your experience together.

I work relationally and integratively, drawing primarily on psychodynamic psychotherapy, attachment theory and trauma-informed practice. Rather than focusing only on symptoms, I help clients understand the deeper patterns that shape how they relate to themselves, others and the world. Together we explore not only what is happening, but also why these patterns developed and how they may have once served an important purpose.

Many of the people I work with have experienced childhood trauma, difficult relationships, loss or adverse life experiences that continue to influence the present. Therapy offers an opportunity to understand these experiences with compassion, increase self-awareness and create lasting change.

Every client is unique, so I tailor therapy to your individual needs. Alongside insight-oriented work, I may integrate experiential approaches such as Psychodrama and Chairwork, together with mindfulness, Compassion Focused Therapy, ACT, CBT-informed strategies and practical emotional regulation skills where appropriate.

Above all, I believe the therapeutic relationship is central to meaningful change. Feeling genuinely understood, accepted and supported creates the foundation for lasting psychological growth. Whether you are navigating a current crisis or exploring long-standing patterns, we will work collaboratively at a pace that feels right for you.

Practice description

Starting therapy can feel like a significant step, particularly if this is your first experience of counselling or psychotherapy. My aim is to provide a calm, confidential and supportive environment where you can talk openly, without fear of judgement or pressure.

Our first session is an opportunity to explore what has brought you to therapy, understand what you hope to achieve, and consider whether we feel we are the right fit to work together. There is no expectation to share everything immediately. We work at a pace that feels safe and manageable for you.

I offer both short-term therapy, where we focus on a specific difficulty or goal, and longer-term psychotherapy for those wishing to explore more deeply rooted patterns, trauma, attachment difficulties or longstanding emotional challenges.

Sessions are collaborative and tailored to your individual needs. Depending on what is most helpful, our work may involve reflecting on current difficulties, exploring relationships and past experiences, understanding emotional patterns, developing healthier ways of coping, or using experiential techniques such as Chairwork and Psychodrama to deepen insight and emotional processing.

Clients often describe me as warm, compassionate and thoughtful, while also being willing to gently challenge unhelpful patterns when appropriate. I believe therapy is most effective when you feel genuinely heard, understood and accepted, while also being supported to grow in ways that feel meaningful and sustainable.

I work with adults from a wide range of backgrounds and presentations, including anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, relationship difficulties, bereavement, low self-esteem, life transitions, workplace stress, neurodiversity, and the lasting impact of adverse childhood experiences.

Whether you are facing a current crisis or seeking a deeper understanding of yourself, therapy offers a space to pause, reflect and move towards a more fulfilling and authentic way of living.

My first session

Before arranging a first appointment, I am happy to offer a brief telephone consultation. This gives us an opportunity to discuss what has brought you to therapy, answer any initial questions you may have, and consider whether I am the right therapist for your needs.

The first therapy session is slightly different from ongoing sessions. It is an opportunity for us to get to know one another, explore what has led you to seek therapy at this point in your life, and begin to understand what you would like to achieve. I will ask some questions about your current difficulties, personal history and any previous experience of therapy, but there is no expectation to tell your whole story in one session.

Equally important is that you have the opportunity to ask questions about how I work and to consider whether you feel comfortable working with me. A strong therapeutic relationship is one of the most important predictors of successful therapy, so it is important that you feel the approach is right for you.

Where appropriate, I may use brief questionnaires or assessment measures to help us understand your current difficulties and establish a helpful starting point, although these are only used when they are likely to add value to our work together.

At the end of the session, we will discuss whether ongoing therapy feels appropriate, agree on an initial focus for our work, and decide together on the frequency of sessions that best supports your goals.

The fee for the initial session is the same as for all subsequent sessions.
