About me and my therapy practice
Hello, my name is Diane and I am passionate about counselling, I belief that talking through your problems with a trained professional can help you to navigate those difficult thoughts and explore your true feelings. We all live in a demanding world where it is easy to become overwhelmed, anxious and depressed. I am a fully qualified Integrative Humanistic Counsellor and a CBT Therapist; I will provide you with a non-judgemental and safe space to talk about any problem that is causing you distress or upset. By putting your trust in the “counselling process” you will begin to connect to your “authentic self” and in return, you will start to flourish as your self-esteem and confidence improves. Counselling gives you the tools and freedom to make positive changes in your life and I will support you through this journey.
Practice description
Online / Telephone: £35.00
Face to face: £40.00
Initially I work from a Person-Centred approach, this means that I put my client’s needs at the forefront of my work, for example, I will listen to your concerns and worries and help you to consider what you want to achieve from counselling by exploring goals and expectations. The therapeutic relationship is key to successful counselling therefore I work with my clients to ensure that they feel heard and understood. Once the therapeutic relationship is established and I have a greater understanding of your needs I will be able to explore other approaches to the way we work together, such as, Transactional Analysis, Gestalt or CBT. Brief description below:
Transactional Analysis: A psychoanalytical approach to exploring how we communicate with others. Looking at patterns of behaviour and learning how to re-frame difficult situations for a more a positive outcome. TA can help to improve relationships and communication.
Gestalt: This is a holistic psychotherapy approach which helps to increase the client’s “self-awareness”, the process involves exploring fixed patterns of behaviour and beliefs. As the counsellor I will support the client to find creative ways to resolve your problems.
CBT: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy uses thoughts, emotions, feelings and behaviour to explore negative situations and experiences at a deeper level. Through discussion and collaboration, a treatment plan is agreed, subsequent sessions will be used to monitor progress and adjust where necessary.
Every client is different and I am able to adapt my skills to help my clients feel better equipped to deal with their problems. My end goal is for clients to feel empowered, confident and resilient, thus, ready to feel strong enough to face life’s many challenges.
