About me and my therapy practice
Maybe things have not have felt right for some time, or maybe a recent life event has hit you hard and is causing worry and concern. You may want to talk but feel you have no one to turn to. As a therapist, I will listen to your concerns, give you space to talk, and time to process what has brought you to counselling.
Grief and loss impact us all. Have you lost a loved one through bereavement, experienced a relationship breakdown, or job loss? Maybe you are living with the impact of a disability or illness and can no longer do the things that you used to be able to do, or perhaps you are caring for someone close who is going through these changes.
At these times emotions can take over and be difficult to manage, grief can weigh heavily, impacting the body and your ability to cope. You may feel you have lost part of yourself and the future may be difficult to envisage. Counselling can help you to process these painful emotions, make sense of what you are feeling, what has happened to your world and help you face the future.
In private practice I have supported clients navigating difficult periods of their lives, relationship issues, bereavement, loss, anxiety and depression.
I also work in a setting that specialises supporting people who are bereaved, or those living with life-limiting illnesses and their families.
Prior to counselling, I worked in Human Resources and supported people in the workplace. This included work-related stress, those returning to work after lengthy absences and those remaining in work with health conditions or disabilities. This has given me an appreciation of the stresses and challenges surrounding employment.
Practice description
I offer a calm, confidential, and non-judgmental space, where you will have time to focus on the experiences that have brought you to counselling. I will not tell you what to do, but I will be there with you, listening to understand from your perspective. You will decide what we talk about and what is important to you. I will give you time to process your thoughts and feelings, and understand yourself more clearly.
Session will last 50 minutes.
My standard fee is £50 per session. My concessionary fee, available to the unwaged and trainee counsellors, is £35 per session.
My first session
It can be daunting to reach out for counselling and to put your trust in someone you have never met. I therefore offer a free 30-minute call to ensure you feel comfortable working with me. I am happy to answer your questions and explain my approach, I invite you to share what has brought you to counselling and any goals you would like to achieve.
Please get in touch to book an introductory call where we can assess whether we’d work well together. I look forward to hearing from you.
