About me and my therapy practice

Hi, my name is Sarah (she/her) and I am a fully qualified therapeutic counsellor offering face-to-face sessions in Swindon.

I work using a trauma-informed, Person-Centred Approach which means I believe that each and every person is innately deserving of respect and are the experts in themselves. Through developing a safe, non-judgemental and understanding relationship, I work alongside you to explore your difficulties and empower you to discover your own solutions - at your own pace.

Empathy and compassion are the key to developing a good relationship.

I have a wide experience working with low mood, anxiety, self-esteem, loss, relationships and self-discovery. I also have particular experience working with survivors of sexual assault and those in the perinatal period.

Practice description

I am warm, understanding and compassionate. I let you set the entire journey - the places we explore and at a pace which you decide. I am not here to tell you what to do, but instead to help you connect to your truth and make the changes which are right for you.

My first session

I offer a free, no-obligation 15-minute consultation call for you to ask me any questions which might help you see if we would be a good fit.

Should you decide to book in for a first session with me, we will go through a contract together which is designed to make the work feel contained and safe for us both. It will include things such as session times, frequency, payment and areas you would like to focus on - as well as what you can expect from me. This is a collaboration.

It's completely normal to be nervous during the first session and to have lots of questions. It's also completely normal to not know where to start (!) and so I can gently guide us through and start exploring together what the focus of our work might be.
