About me and my therapy practice

Supporting Adults Through Loss, Health Challenges, Relationship Difficulties and Life Transitions.

Life can change in an instant. The loss of someone you love, a health diagnosis, relationship difficulties, caring responsibilities, retirement, menopause, or another unexpected life transition can leave you feeling overwhelmed, uncertain, and no longer quite like yourself.

You may be trying to cope with emotions that feel unfamiliar, struggling to adjust to changes you never anticipated, or finding it difficult to share how you're really feeling with those around you. Perhaps you've spent much of your life supporting others and now need a space where the focus can be on you.

Whatever has brought you here, you do not have to face it alone.

Practice description

I am a warm, compassionate and grounded counsellor who works with adults across the UK online. My aim is to offer a safe and supportive space where you can talk openly about what is happening in your life and feel truly heard, understood and accepted.

Before becoming a counsellor, I worked as a nurse for over 30 years in a variety of healthcare settings. Throughout my nursing career, I had the privilege of supporting people through illness, recovery, uncertainty, grief, loss and end-of-life experiences. These years taught me the importance of compassion, presence and human connection during life's most difficult moments.

Today, I bring that same depth of understanding into my counselling practice.

I have a particular interest in working with:

• Bereavement and loss, including pet bereavement

• Chronic illness, health-related concerns and adjusting to life-changing diagnoses, including cancer

• Relationship difficulties and changes within families

• Anxiety, stress and emotional overwhelm

• Loss of confidence and difficulties being kind to yourself

• Changes in identity and adjusting to a different chapter of life

• Supporting carers and healthcare professionals

Many of the people I work with are navigating experiences that have changed how they see themselves and their future. Together, we can create space to explore your thoughts, emotions and challenges at a pace that feels right for you.

As a Pluralistic counsellor, I believe there is no single way to do therapy. Every person brings their own story, strengths, values and experiences. I work collaboratively with you to discover what feels most helpful, drawing on a range of therapeutic approaches to support your individual needs. This means we can tailor our work together in a way that feels meaningful and relevant to you.

Training, qualifications & experience:

MSc with Distinction: Pluralistic Psychotherapy - Abertay University

BSc Health Studies - Napier University
