About me and my therapy practice
About My Practice
When life feels chaotic, overwhelming, or deeply stuck, the patterns we fall into are rarely just random problems or deficits to be fixed. Whether you are navigating an exhausting relationship with food and control, managing the intense cycles and masking fatigue of ADHD, or carrying the isolating weight of high expectation in a high-pressure sector, your struggles make sense. On the surface, things like perfectionism, anxiety, disordered eating, or burnout look like self-sabotage. In reality, they usually begin as highly intelligent, necessary survival strategies—exhausting attempts by your internal system to protect you and keep you safe.
My approach moves entirely away from treating you as a diagnosis or a box to be ticked. I offer a warm, secure, and collaborative space where you are met as an equal partner in your own growth. Together, we look beneath the surface struggles to understand the unique architecture of your mind and the underlying functions your behaviours serve.
How I Work
I work using an integrative framework that blends developmental, cognitive, and evolutionary psychology with a deep focus on the body and identity. This means our therapy is practical, deeply human, and tailored to how you actually operate.
Our work together is two-fold:
Compassionate Exploration: We gently explore the inner narratives, early experiences, and learned behaviours that have shaped your current relationship with yourself and the world.
Practical Agency: We collaborate to develop sustainable, real-world strategies that fit your genuine style of thinking and being, rather than forcing you to conform to systems that have already failed you.
Whether we are unmasking deep-seated patterns or navigating a major life transition, the goal isn't just to help you "get by". It is to cultivate lasting autonomy, internal balance, and a resilient sense of self that remains stable regardless of external pressures.
Practice description
Our Collaborative Environment
In my practice, therapy is not something that is done to you - it is a collaborative partnership. I provide a space that is conversational, active, and down-to-earth. You can expect me to be engaged, curious, and entirely transparent about how I see your internal system operating.
We will work strictly at your pace, balancing deep, reflective exploration with practical, actionable strategies. There is no requirement to "mask," perform, or fit into a generic psychological box here. Whether we are untangling a complex relationship with food, navigating neurodivergent burnout, or processing the unique demands of an elite career, we look at the whole person behind the struggles.
I maintain a deliberate limit on my active caseload to ensure that when you are in a session with me, you receive my full, undivided attention, energy, and a high level of clinical responsiveness. Our ultimate goal is to help you transition away from short-term survival strategies and toward a genuine sense of internal balance, ease, and self-ownership.
What to Expect
Taking the step into therapy can feel daunting, especially if you are used to keeping things tightly controlled or managing high-pressure environments on your own. Because of this, my primary focus from our very first point of contact is to establish a secure, predictable, and highly confidential environment.
Our first full session is an initial assessment, but it doesn't feel like a rigid medical interrogation. Instead, it is a conversational, two-way exploration. We will map out what has brought you to therapy, look at the patterns that are currently leaving you feeling exhausted or entangled, and establish what meaningful relief and autonomy look like for you. You are the expert on your internal experience; my role is to provide the clinical expertise, framework, and objective perspective to help you make sense of it.
My first session
I offer a free initial consultation which lasts around 15-20 minutes. This is also a chance for us both to consider whether we are correct for each other and a chance for you to ask questions too. This is done over the phone to make it as easy as possible. We will then book in a full assessment session should you wish to proceed.
