Availability
I currently have availability to welcome a new client into my practice on a Friday afternoon. Sessions take place weekly, face to face at my private office on Cathedral Road.
Because I know that stepping into therapy can feel like a massive logistical and emotional hurdle—especially when you are already feeling completely drained—I don’t expect you to commit to anything right away. I offer a free, 30-minute online consultation before we ever book your first face-to-face session. This is simply a casual, zero-pressure chat for us to meet, see how it feels to talk to one another, and decide if we are a good match.
About me and my therapy practice
There's no 'right' way to show up here. If you are carrying heavy layers of anxiety or burnout, I offer a trauma-informed, neurodivergent-affirming space where we can figure things out together, as a team, with zero pressure and zero judgment.
I'm Meggan, a qualified psychotherapist with over fifteen years of frontline experience supporting people through confusing and overwhelming times. Clients often tell me they are surprised by how easy it is to talk here—simply because there is no pressure to say the "right" thing or be a "perfect" client.
Therapy with me feels more like a calm, collaborative chat where we figure things out together at your own pace. I use creative tools and straightforward explanations of how the mind works to help you make sense of your experiences, without expecting you to mask or perform. We meet in a quiet, sensory-friendly room with soft lighting, tactile fidgets, and zero requirement for eye contact. You are welcome to show up exactly as you are—even if that means showing up tired, messy, or completely quiet.
Practice description
I view therapy as a dynamic, collaborative partnership grounded in the belief that while you are the ultimate expert on your own life, you shouldn't have to figure everything out in a vacuum. My job is to work side-by-side with you, offering an honest, compassionate sounding board to help you identify what is draining you, rather than dictating what you should do or how you should feel. I don't sit in passive, clinical silence; I show up as a real person who will actively participate, offer insights, and gently highlight your blind spots when you are overthinking, masking, or standing in your own way.
My approach is built on a deep respect for all backgrounds, neurotypes, gender expressions, and sexual identities—whoever you are, you belong here exactly as you are. Instead of asking you to fit into a rigid box or perform to get support, I want this space to feel truly yours—tailored completely to your physical comfort and shaped around how your mind naturally works. We move entirely at a pace that feels safe for your nervous system, especially if you have had painful or overwhelming past experiences. Together, we will combine different insights, looking gently at how your history shapes your present while sharing clear, practical information about how the brain works when it finds things useful. This allows us to build real-world, day-to-day coping strategies that make sense to your unique mind, helping you quiet intense loops of anxiety or OCD, build boundaries that protect your peace, and feel genuinely challenged to grow.
My first session
Taking the first step can feel daunting, which is why we always start with a free 30-minute online consultation. There’s no fee, no pressure, and zero obligation to book anything afterward. You can arrange this by clicking the ‘Email me’ button at the top of this page.
This initial chat is just a chance for us to meet, get a feel for how we talk to each other, and see if we’re a good fit. We can chat through what you’re hoping to gain, answer any practical questions about how I work, and talk about any specific adjustments that will make the physical space feel comfortable for you.
If you decide you’d like to work together, our first face-to-face session is £60.00. We’ll use this time to go over basic admin and safety—like confidentiality and cancellations—so everything feels transparent from day one. Most importantly, it’s a space to talk about your boundaries and what you need to feel safe and respected in the room.
From there, we’ll start exploring what’s going on at your pace. There’s no rush and no expectation to have everything figured out right away—we’ll figure it out together, in whatever way works best for you.
