About me and my therapy practice

I am a BACP-Accredited Counsellor, EMDR Therapist and Clinical Supervisor.

Life can feel overwhelming, and you don't have to face it alone. You may be living with trauma, depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties or family issues. Whatever you're going through, therapeutic support can help you find a way forward.

Whether you're facing long-standing challenges or a difficult period, we will explore their impact on your thoughts, feelings and behaviours. This can deepen your understanding of yourself and your experiences, while identifying ways to make changes where possible and build resilience where things are less within your control.

I believe meaningful change begins within the therapeutic relationship. As trust develops, we can explore the issues you bring and the experiences that shape how you feel and relate to the world. My life experiences, personal therapy and professional training enable me to offer an empathetic, grounded and authentic presence, particularly during moments that feel complex, painful or uncertain.

I work in a warm, engaged and honest way, offering challenge when appropriate while always prioritising your best interests. At the heart of my practice is a commitment to supporting greater self-awareness, emotional wellbeing and a deeper understanding of yourself.

Alongside talking therapy, I offer EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing), which can help process distressing or traumatic experiences that continue to affect the present. I am currently completing my EMDR training and offer this to clients with less complex trauma, helping to reduce the emotional impact of difficult memories and support greater perspective and wellbeing.

Practice description

Working in both the NHS and private practice, I have supported people from diverse backgrounds facing a wide range of challenges.

Areas I often work with:

• Trauma: When past or present traumatic experiences continue to affect daily life

• Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs): Early traumatic experiences including abuse, neglect, household dysfunction or boarding school syndrome

• Anxiety: Catastrophising, overthinking, fear of the future or unable to switch off

• Depression / Low mood: Feeling persistently low, unmotivated, stuck or isolated

• Stress: Struggling to cope with daily pressures or feeling overwhelmed or burnout

• Grief & Loss: Coping with bereavement or loss, recent or past

• Self-worth / Low self-esteem: Self-doubt, feeling “not good enough”, self-criticism, people-pleasing or perfectionism

• Relationship difficulties / Family dynamics: Communication issues, conflict, emotional distance, separation or divorce

• Life changes / Life transitions: Feeling stuck, lost, or uncertain during periods of change

How I work:

Recognising that everyone has their own history, perspective, and experiences, I take a holistic, integrative approach—drawing on various therapeutic methods and tailoring the work to meet your needs. This flexibility is an important part of how I work as it allows our sessions to evolve in a way that feels supportive, collaborative, and responsive to you as a unique individual.
