About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I’m Abigail. I’m a counsellor and clinical supervisor offering online and telephone therapy to adults across the UK.
People come to therapy for all sorts of reasons, but one thing I notice often is how hard we can be on ourselves when we’re struggling.
Do any of these sound familiar?
“Other people have it worse.”
“I should be coping better than this.”
“I thought I’d be over this by now.”
“Why am I finding this so hard?”
“Maybe I’m just being too sensitive.”
We can often put a huge amount of pressure on ourselves to cope, even when we’re going through really difficult times. We can be quick to judge our own reactions and expect more from ourselves than we would from anybody else.
Therapy can give you a space where you don’t have to keep managing everything on your own. Together, we can explore what’s going on, understand your experience more clearly and look at what might help things feel more manageable.
Practice description
Some weeks you may know exactly what you want to talk about, and other weeks you may not know where to begin. We can start with a check-in and work out together what feels most important to focus on that day.
There may be times when you need space to talk and be heard, and other times when it feels helpful to explore patterns, look at things from a different angle or find practical ways of coping. We can shape the sessions around what feels most helpful at the time.
There isn’t a one-size-fits-all way of working. We can build on what already helps you and adapt the sessions around what feels right for you.
Sessions are 50 minutes. You may prefer weekly sessions, or fortnightly may suit you better. There’s no set number of sessions, and this can change over time - we can figure that out together as we go.
Sessions take place online or by telephone. Some people prefer seeing each other on screen, while others find it easier to talk without a camera - we can use whichever format suits you best.
My first session
If you’d like to get in touch, you can complete the contact form on this page. I’ll usually reply within 48 hours, excluding weekends.
We can then arrange a free 15-minute introductory call. It’s a chance for us to have a brief chat, for you to get a feel for me and how I work, and to see whether it feels like a good fit. You don’t need to make any decisions there and then - you can always take some time afterwards to think about it.
What I can help with
ADD / ADHD, Anxiety, Autism spectrum, Bereavement, Business coaching, Cancer, Career coaching, Chronic fatigue syndrome / ME, Coach Therapist, Coaching supervision, Depression, Development coaching, Disability, Health related issues, Identity issues, Life coaching, Loss, Menopause, Mood disorder, Neurodiversity, Personal development, Pet bereavement, Redundancy, Relationships, Self esteem, Spirituality, Stress, Trauma, Women's issues, Work related issues

About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I’m Abigail. I’m a counsellor and clinical supervisor offering online supervision to counsellors and others working in the helping professions.
My supervision style is collaborative, reflective and down-to-earth. There’s space to explore the work you’re doing, your professional development, the impact the role may be having on you, and the practical side of your role where that’s relevant.
My background includes several years within EAP services, across operational, clinical and affiliate roles. This means I understand both the value and the unique challenges that can come with this way of working, from both the organisational and therapist side. I particularly enjoy supporting EAP helpline and affiliate counsellors.
I built my own private practice as a newly qualified counsellor, so I understand what it can feel like to be finding your feet as a therapist while also figuring out the business side of private practice. I really value supporting counsellors who are setting up, returning to private practice, or wanting to develop a practice that feels sustainable and realistic for them.
I hold a Level 7 PgCert in Supervision in Counselling, Psychotherapy and Helping Relationships, alongside a Level 5 Diploma in Trauma-Informed Counselling Practice and a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling.
Practice description
I can work with you from a purely person-centred perspective, or take a more integrative approach depending on your way of working. My core training is person-centred, and further qualifications and training have given me a broader range of approaches to draw on where appropriate.
My supervision is mainly informed by the Seven-Eyed Model, and I also draw on the Cyclical Model. I use these flexibly to help us explore the client work, the therapeutic relationship, your development and the wider context around the work.
If you’d like to explore whether we might be a good fit for supervision, feel free to get in touch. We can arrange a free 15-minute introductory call to talk about what you’re looking for, how I work, and any practical questions you may have.
Prices:
60 minutes - £60
90 minutes - £75
I offer a reduced rate for trainee counsellors - £60 for 90 minutes.
