About me and my therapy practice
Seeking therapy can be a daunting process, but can be one that results in lasting change. I am a fully qualified, and experienced counsellor and psychotherapist and I will work with you to gain insight into your thoughts, feelings and behavioural patterns and help turn that awareness into meaningful change.
Life can present us with many challenges and perhaps you’ve arrived at a place where you feel stuck and need support in finding a way through. Feeling sad, alone, anxious, or confused, can affect all of us.
I can offer you a safe place to explore your feelings, thoughts, and behaviours at a time in your life when you might be overwhelmed or not knowing where to go next.
With the right counsellor you can feel listened to and understood, and start to recognise what’s holding you back from living more positively and fully.

About me and my therapy practice
You may be feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, overthinking, or a constant sense of worry that feels difficult to switch off. You might be struggling with low mood or depression, emotional exhaustion, or feeling that life is harder to manage than it should be.
Some people I work with are living with ADHD, OCD, or generalised anxiety disorder (GAD), whether formally diagnosed or not, and experiencing difficulties such as intrusive thoughts, restlessness, overwhelm, or feeling mentally stuck.
You may also be processing the impact of trauma, past or present experiences that continue to affect how you think, feel, or respond in your daily life. Others come to therapy due to family issues, relationship difficulties, or long-standing patterns that feel hard to break.
I also support people experiencing bereavement, separation anxiety, and more general mental health difficulties, particularly when things feel confusing, intense, or difficult to make sense of alone.
I work with adults who feel stuck in these patterns and want to begin understanding what is happening beneath the surface. Together, we explore how your thoughts, emotions, and experiences connect, and what may be keeping you feeling this way, with the aim of helping you feel more grounded, regulated, and able to move forward.
Practice description
I offer a calm, confidential and supportive space where you can talk openly about what is happening in your life without fear of judgement or pressure. Many people come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure how to make sense of their experiences, including anxiety, low mood, trauma, ADHD, OCD, bereavement, and relationship or family difficulties.
My approach is integrative and tailored to you as an individual. I work collaboratively, taking into account your pace, needs, and what feels most helpful.
Therapy may focus on current difficulties such as anxiety, overthinking, or emotional overwhelm, or longer-term patterns linked to early experiences, trauma, or attachment issues.
We may explore how anxiety, GAD, or OCD are maintained through thoughts, feelings, and behaviours, or how ADHD and neurodivergence can involve overwhelm, emotional regulation difficulties, and unhelpful coping strategies.
Where trauma is present, we work at your pace to ensure safety and containment, including how past experiences continue to affect present emotions and relationships.
I also support grief and bereavement, as well as family and relationship difficulties, focusing on communication, boundaries, and emotional patterns.
Alongside this, we may develop practical strategies such as grounding techniques and emotional regulation skills to support day-to-day life.
The therapeutic relationship is central to the work. I aim to offer a steady, supportive presence where you feel heard and understood, helping you make sense of your experiences and explore change safely.
Clients often describe therapy as feeling less alone, more understood, and more able to respond differently to life’s challenges.
The pace is guided by you, with no expectation to approach things in a particular order. My aim is to support you in feeling more grounded, clear, and able to move forward.
My first session
Your first session gives us the opportunity to meet properly and begin exploring what has brought you to therapy. It is a space to start understanding your current difficulties in more depth, whether that relates to anxiety, low mood, overwhelm, trauma, ADHD, OCD, bereavement, or relationship and family issues.
Many people find it helpful to use this session to talk through what has been feeling most difficult, or what feels most present for them right now. You do not need to have everything clearly worked out, and there is no expectation to say things in any particular way.
You do not need to prepare anything in advance. We will go at a pace that feels comfortable for you, and you can share as much or as little as feels right. I may ask gentle questions to help us begin making sense of what you are experiencing, but there is no pressure to go into anything before you feel ready.
The aim of this first session is to give you a sense of what it feels like to work together, and to begin shaping what support might look like moving forward. We may start to identify patterns, themes, or areas you would like to focus on, but this is done gently and collaboratively.
There is no obligation to continue after this session. Some people choose to take time to reflect afterwards, while others feel ready to continue straight away. Either is absolutely fine.
This session is also an opportunity for you to ask any questions about the way I work, and to decide whether you feel comfortable moving forward together.
You do not need to have everything clearly worked out before starting. Many people come to therapy simply knowing that something does not feel right and wanting support in making sense of it.
Getting in touch is the first step towards seeing whether working together feels right for you. I aim to respond to enquiries in a timely way and can answer any initial questions you may have about starting therapy.
