About me and my therapy practice
I am a compassionate, caring, and creative counsellor, supervisor, and relational practitioner with a private practice based from my home. I offer a warm, safe, and welcoming space where clients can explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences without fear of judgement.
My work is grounded in the belief that healing happens through meaningful relationships. I work relationally, building trusting therapeutic connections that enable clients to feel heard, understood, and supported. I value authenticity, empathy, and respect, and I tailor my approach to meet the unique needs of each individual.
Alongside talking therapy, I enjoy incorporating creative tools and resources into my work where appropriate. These may include sand tray therapy, animals and miniature figures, colours, creative materials, imagery, and other experiential techniques that help clients express themselves in ways that words alone cannot always capture. Creative approaches can be particularly helpful for exploring emotions, relationships, life experiences, and personal strengths in a deeper and more accessible way.
As a clinical supervisor, I provide a reflective, supportive, and collaborative space for counsellors and helping professionals. I encourage curiosity, creativity, professional development, and self-awareness, helping supervisees to feel confident and supported in their practice.
My online and home based practice offers a confidential and comfortable environment where clients and supervisees can take time to reflect, grow, and discover new possibilities. I am passionate about supporting people to develop greater self-understanding, resilience, and wellbeing, and I feel privileged to accompany them on their journey of growth and change.

My first session
The first counselling session lasts 50 minutes and is an opportunity for us to begin getting to know one another in a safe, supportive, and confidential environment.
During this initial session, I will invite you to share what has brought you to counselling and what you hope to gain from our work together. There is no pressure to tell your whole story at once; we will work at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
We will also spend some time discussing our counselling agreement (contracting). This includes important information about confidentiality and its limits, data protection, session fees, cancellations, boundaries, and how we will work together. Contracting helps create clarity, safety, and trust within the therapeutic relationship and gives you the opportunity to ask any questions you may have.
The first session is also a chance for you to decide whether I am the right counsellor for you. Building a positive therapeutic relationship is an important part of the counselling process, and I welcome any thoughts, concerns, or questions you may have.
As a relational and creative practitioner, I may discuss the range of ways we can work together, including talking therapy and, where appropriate, the use of creative resources such as sand tray work, miniature figures, colours, imagery, and other creative tools to support exploration and self-expression.
My aim is for you to leave the first session feeling heard, understood, and clearer about how counselling can support you on your journey.

About me and my therapy practice
I'm Catherine, I have a BSc (Hons) degree in Therapeutic Counselling and would describe my approach as integrative. Talking to someone can really help, just being able to feel heard and understood by someone is a powerful feeling.
Experienced in a wide range of mental health problems, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, grief, bereavement and trauma therapy.
My aim is to build people up and I am committed to providing a warm safe and supportive environment. I am a compassionate, non-judgmental and kind person with a gentle voice. You do not have to be on your own with your worries and thoughts. The way I can help you is by offering another perspective and a chance to reflect and be curious looking into your past and present issues/concerns together at your own pace.
I am a provider for insurance companies AVIVA, Vitality, AXA and WPA.

Practice description
As a supervisor, I offer a collaborative, relational, and supportive space where supervisees can reflect openly on their client work, professional development, and personal responses to practice.
I believe that effective supervision is built on a trusting and authentic relationship. My relational approach values curiosity, openness, and mutual respect, creating an environment where supervisees feel safe to explore both their strengths and challenges. I aim to provide a balance of support and constructive challenge, encouraging deeper reflection and growth while maintaining a compassionate and encouraging stance.
I enjoy working creatively and collaboratively, often “bouncing ideas around” together to explore different perspectives, possibilities, and interventions. Rather than positioning myself as the expert, I see supervision as a shared process of discovery, where learning emerges through dialogue, reflection, and curiosity.
I offer thoughtful challenge when appropriate, helping supervisees to consider blind spots, ethical dilemmas, relational dynamics, and alternative ways of understanding their work. My intention is always to support confidence, professional development, and safe, ethical practice while fostering self-awareness and resilience.
Whether you are a trainee counsellor, newly qualified practitioner, or experienced therapist, I strive to provide a reflective, engaging, and supportive supervisory relationship that nurtures both professional competence and personal growth.
My first session
The initial supervision session usually lasts 90 minutes and provides an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin building a strong supervisory relationship.
During this first meeting, we will explore your current role, professional experience, training, client work, and what you are hoping to gain from supervision. I am interested in understanding your strengths, areas for development, preferred ways of working, and any particular support needs you may have.
We will also spend time discussing our supervision agreement (contracting). This includes confidentiality and its limits, ethical responsibilities, record keeping, fees, cancellations, frequency of supervision, and our respective roles and responsibilities within the supervisory relationship. Contracting helps to create a clear, safe, and professional framework for our work together.
My approach to supervision is relational, collaborative, and supportive. I aim to create a space where you feel comfortable bringing your successes, challenges, uncertainties, and questions. Together, we can reflect on client work, explore different perspectives, and think creatively about interventions and ways forward. I value honest dialogue and will offer both support and constructive challenge to encourage professional growth, self-awareness, and ethical practice.
The first session is also an opportunity for you to decide whether I am the right supervisor for you. A good supervisory relationship is built on trust, openness, and mutual respect, and I welcome any questions you may have about my approach and how we might work together.
