About me and my therapy practice

Hello, I’m Sarah, a warm, approachable and compassionate BACP-registered counsellor and psychotherapist. I work primarily with teenagers and adults who may be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or struggling with difficult emotions or past experiences.

You might be finding things difficult at the moment, or carrying experiences that feel hard to make sense of. I offer a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space where you can take time to explore what’s been going on, at your own pace.

I work in a person-centred and relational way, meaning therapy is guided by you—your experiences, your needs, and what feels most important to you. My aim is to create a space where you feel heard, understood and able to be yourself without pressure.

I have experience supporting with anxiety, low mood, grief and loss, emotional overwhelm, and relationship difficulties. I also work with identity and emotional regulation, helping you to better understand yourself, feel more grounded, and begin to move forward in a way that feels manageable.

I offer in-person counselling in Dukinfield, as well as online and telephone sessions across the UK, providing flexibility to access support in a way that suits you.

If you’re considering therapy, you’re very welcome to get in touch for a free initial consultation. This is a chance to talk about what you’re looking for and see whether working together feels like a good fit.

Practice description

My counselling approach is rooted in person-centred therapy, meaning our work together focuses on what feels most important to you. I also draw on integrative approaches, tailoring sessions to your individual needs and emotional experiences. This flexible way of working allows therapy to move at your pace, in a way that feels safe and manageable.

Whether you’re looking to explore deeper experiences or need space to reflect on what’s happening in your day-to-day life, I will meet you where you are. We can take things gently, or go deeper when you feel ready—there is no pressure to share more than feels right.

I offer a warm, compassionate and non-judgemental presence, where your experiences are valued and respected. Therapy is guided by you rather than a fixed agenda, allowing space for whatever feels most important in the moment.

I understand that life can feel overwhelming at times, particularly when you’re navigating anxiety, low mood, trauma, or periods of change. My role is to offer consistent, grounded support—helping you to explore your experiences safely and begin to make sense of what’s been going on.

Over time, we will build a trusting therapeutic relationship where you can express yourself openly and honestly. Whether short-term or longer-term, our work will remain collaborative and focused on your wellbeing, helping you feel more understood, more connected to yourself, and better able to cope in everyday life.

My first session

Taking the first step towards counselling can feel daunting, which is why I offer a free 25-minute initial consultation via telephone or secure video call. This gives us the opportunity to talk about what you’re looking for from therapy, explore how I work, and see whether working together feels like a good fit. There is no pressure to decide—it’s simply a space for you to ask questions and get a sense of whether I’m the right therapist for you.

If you decide to begin therapy, we can agree a regular day and time for sessions that fits around your commitments. Sessions are typically held weekly to provide consistency and support.

I offer online and telephone sessions across the UK, allowing you to access therapy from the comfort and privacy of your own space.

I offer a limited number of concessionary rates for students and those on lower incomes, as I aim to keep therapy as accessible as possible. You’re welcome to enquire about current availability if affordability is a concern.

I am a fully insured and registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), working in line with professional standards of ethics and confidentiality.

If you would like to arrange an initial consultation, you’re very welcome to get in touch.
