About me and my therapy practice
Welcome to reconnection.
A place for those who feel they are ‘not enough’ in life to process, feel and explore.
Do you feel you don’t belong? Have you learned along the way that you weren’t enough? Do you feel you have to justify your decisions and prove yourself as worthy and loveable?
If you are feeling exhausted, you are in the right place. At Whole Self Therapy, all of you is welcome here.
This is a Gender, Sexual, and Relationship Diversity Affirming and and LGBTQIA+ Inclusive Practice.
However you have been loved and whoever you love, you are welcome here.
Counselling can be many things, a safe space to think, talk, share, cry, plan and understand yourself more. It means many things to people, and it can be a useful tool for a short or long time.
Practice description
I understand where you are…
Born and raised in India, the USA and the UK, I learned how to be in multiple cultural circles, hold different identities, and how to show up, especially when there were parts of identity in conflict, often wondering ‘where do I belong? where do I sit?‘
Therapy was a place where I allowed all parts of myself to be seated at the table, where I was able to understand and tell my story, with both the pain and beauty that framed it, and explore how I wanted to create a life that felt aligned with my values and goals. It wasn’t easy, it didn’t happen overnight, but it was worth it.
After my own therapy experiences, I began the process of training to provide that same space for others in 2020. As a fully qualified Counsellor and Relationship Therapist, I aim to equip and support you on your journey, to empower you to step into living a more bold, authentic and vibrant life.
With me, we will:
• Understand the root causes and the impact of your difficulties on your life.
• Recognise how you notice experiences in your body and how they play out.
• Identify triggers and things that negatively impact you.
• Test tools for emotional regulation, helping you to feel and process your emotions in less destructive ways.
• Consider your core beliefs about yourself.
• Create places of safety for you to find rest in.
• Feel emotions, talk about them and use them to help you make decisions and understand more about yourself.
• Find ways for you to show up authentically as yourself.
• Consider how we can heal connections.
• Take time with your story.
• Help you step into a more authentic and whole life.
My work attracts those who want to process family and relationship dynamics, those navigating life challenges and those who want to reclaim their voice. I work with Gay & Queer people, Artists and Creatives, Professionals and Trainee Therapists.
I am a culturally sensitive and aware counsellor who is also LGBTQIA+ Affirming and welcoming of all peoples and backgrounds.
My first session
There are 3 Steps to take:
1. Fill out the Referral Form on my website or email me to enquire about therapy sessions. This form helps me to understand your goals for therapy and helps me to see if we might be a good fit. This will lead to...
2. A Free 20-minute Meet & Greet Video Call which will allow you to share in more detail about your reasons for counselling, allowing us to see if we are a good fit for…
3. An Initial Session which will allow you space to share in depth about you, your situation and your circumstances, and also allow us to see if we are a good fit for therapy and from here we can book more sessions.
It is expected that sessions occur weekly as agreed in our initial session meeting.
As we work together, we will take time in sessions to review our work and see if we are headed in a direction in line with your goals and values.
It is important that we work well together and that we feel it is a good fit. As someone who has been to therapy, I know how important it is to feel that your counsellor is someone you can talk to freely without judgment or fear.
