About me and my therapy practice

Hello, my name is Kate and I'm a Humanistic Counsellor, grounded in Person Centred Counselling based in East Yorkshire.

You’re here because something hasn’t sat right for a while. You may be feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or just plain curious.

You might be used to coping. You may feel you should be able to handle things on your own. What you may not have had is the space to look at what’s going on properly.

I work relationally. That means we think together. We are a team — equals. We look at patterns, context and history, and how they’re shaping things now.

I offer support to people living with anxiety, bereavement, depression, menopause (peri & post), redundancy and life changes, stress, and questions around sexuality.

I have particular experience working with adults living with chronic illness or visible health conditions, women recovering from controlling or emotionally damaging relationships, and people working in high-pressure environments, including media professionals.

I WORK ONLINE ONLY ACROSS THE UK.

Practice description

I offer ONLINE THERAPY ONLY ACROSS THE UK.

Sessions last an hour and take place via secure video. I currently work Monday afternoon, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday morning.

Some people come for short-term work focused on a specific issue. Others choose longer-term therapy to explore patterns and make more sustained changes.

I aim to answer all enquires within 48 hours. If contact is made over a weekend, I'll be in touch on the next business day,

My first session

I offer a free 30-minute online consultation so we can see whether working together feels like a good fit.

If you decide to book a full session, the first session is a conversation.

You don’t need to arrive with a perfectly formed explanation of what’s wrong. We start with what feels most pressing or most unclear.

I’ll ask some questions about what’s brought you here and what you’re hoping might change. You can also ask me anything about how I work.

There’s no pressure to commit beyond that session. It’s an opportunity to see whether the way I work feels useful to you.

If we decide to continue, we’ll agree a regular time and a working contract before therapy begins.
