About me and my therapy practice
At the heart of my practice is a deep respect for each person as an individual. I recognise that no two experiences, challenges, or journeys are the same, and I tailor my approach to meet each client where they are. Whether working in a counselling or life coaching capacity, I adapt the pace, focus, and methods to suit the unique needs and readiness of the person in front of me.
I work at a pace that feels comfortable and manageable for you. There is no pressure to rush or to arrive at conclusions before you are ready. I believe that meaningful change takes time, and I aim to create a space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings safely, without judgment or expectation.
Listening is central to my practice. I offer attentive, compassionate, and non-judgemental listening, ensuring that you feel heard and understood. Through this process, I seek not only to understand your words, but also the meaning and emotions behind them. This helps to build a trusting relationship, which I see as essential for any therapeutic or coaching work.
I gently encourage self-reflection, supporting you to gain deeper insight into your patterns, beliefs, and experiences. Rather than giving advice or directing you, I work collaboratively with you, asking thoughtful questions and offering reflections that can help you see things from new perspectives. My aim is to empower you to find your own answers and develop greater self-awareness.
In counselling, I hold space for exploring past and present experiences, including those that may feel complex or difficult. In life coaching, I support you in clarifying your goals, identifying obstacles, and moving forward with intention. While these roles may differ in focus, my underlying approach remains consistent: respectful, client-centred, and grounded in genuine curiosity about your experience.
Above all, I strive to create a supportive and authentic environment where you can feel safe to explore openly and towards changes that feel right for you.
Practice description
Unlock Your Potential—with Coaching That Meets You Where You Are
Whether you’re mapping out your next career move, finding focus in your studies, or simply ready to build more confidence and direction, coaching gives you the clarity and momentum to move forward with purpose.
I work with individuals and students who want to grow—not just achieve goals, but understand what drives them. Through honest conversation, personalized strategies, and practical accountability, you’ll transform uncertainty into action and obstacles into opportunities.
If you’re ready to discover what you’re truly capable of, let’s start a conversation that changes how you see your future.
Let’s make progress—together.
My first session
The first counselling or coaching session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and to begin understanding what has brought you here. This session is primarily focused on assessment, outlining how we might work together, and deciding whether we are a good fit.
We will start by exploring your reasons for seeking support at this time. You may wish to share any current challenges, concerns, or goals. There is no pressure to say everything at once—this is simply a starting point for building a picture of your situation.
Part of the session will involve an initial assessment. This helps me to understand your needs, your personal circumstances, and any relevant background. I may ask questions about your wellbeing, past experiences, and what you hope to gain from counselling or coaching. You are always free to share only what feels comfortable.
We will also discuss how the work might look going forward. This includes the approach I use, the structure of sessions, and how we can work towards your goals. If you are unsure about what you want, we can begin to clarify this together.
An important aspect of the first session is agreeing on practical and ethical boundaries. This includes confidentiality, session frequency, fees, cancellation policy, and any limits to confidentiality. This agreement is designed to create a safe and consistent framework for our work.
Finally, we will consider whether we feel able to work together. It is important that you feel comfortable and supported, and that I am confident I can meet your needs. If it does not feel like the right fit, we can discuss alternative options or referrals.
The first session is as much for you to ask questions and get a sense of the process as it is for me to understand you. There is no obligation to continue beyond this point unless you feel it is right for you.
