About me and my therapy practice
Looking after your mental health is just as important as your physical health.
Hello, if you are reading this then you have decided to start investigating the path of what is counselling and how can it help you! Person-centred counselling which I offer, is a collaboration between client and counsellor to explore self. Within the counselling I can offer coping strategies which can be tailored to help whilst on this journey.
I offer a safe, confidential, and non-judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences at your own pace. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, stress, low mood, relationship difficulties, bereavement, health concerns, or life transitions, I am here to support you.
At the heart of my practice is the person-centred approach. I believe that every individual has the capacity for growth, healing, and positive change when provided with the right therapeutic environment. I strive to build a relationship based on empathy, authenticity, trust, and acceptance, helping you feel genuinely heard, understood, and valued.
My professional experience includes working with people facing a wide range of life circumstances and emotional difficulties. I have worked with Macmillan, supporting individuals affected by cancer, including patients, family members, friends, and carers. This role enabled me to support people through the emotional impact of diagnosis, treatment, uncertainty, grief, loss, and adjustment. I also work within a leading A-level college, providing counselling and emotional support to young people aged 16–18. Through this work, I help students navigate anxiety, academic pressures, self-esteem issues, identity, relationships, family concerns, bereavement, trauma, loneliness and the challenges that can accompany the transition into adulthood.
Practice description
I am based in the Knutsford area of Cheshire. I decided to re-train as a counsellor, after battling two cancers. I have helped many others experiencing diagnosis of cancer and I truly understand how it feels to receive this news. I now hold a BSc(Hons) in counselling.
I am committed to listening with compassion and without judgement, creating a space where you can speak openly about whatever is troubling you. Together, we will explore your experiences in a way that feels comfortable, collaborative, and meaningful for you.
Counselling can help you build resilience, develop self-awareness, and move towards the changes you wish to make in your life, when feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or struggling to cope with the demands of everyday life. My aim is to provide a warm, respectful, and supportive environment where you can feel safe to explore your thoughts and feelings and work towards improved emotional wellbeing.
You can reach out by email to contact me for an initial conversation to discuss how counselling may be able to support you and if you feel comfortable to work with me, as this is important for the therapeutic relationship to work. I can offer face to face, telephone and Zoom appointments.
My first session
If you are wondering if person-centred counselling is right for you. I offer a free 20 minute telephone conversation, to discuss further and to put your mind at ease. It can become overwhelming to see a number of counsellors offering similar or the same type of therapy. However the therapeutic relationship starts, only if somebody feels comfortable in the first instance with their counsellor.
